This sounds like one of those rare cases in which blowing your lid productively moves the conversation forward.
Yeah I’d say it’s your fault. You should have never pulled a single all nighter. You should have spoken up and talked to someone sooner. It is actually your fault you didn’t ensure this was taken care of. If lead partner knew you were pulling an all nighter, either you were too slow in doing the assigned work or you were too afraid to ask for help sooner
SM1: I'm doing at least two people's jobs. I'm handling the execution and the oversight/management. I don't get credit for the work done by people I coach (keep being ask "but what have you done") and time spent reporting/managing upward I'm left with no capacity for the work only I can do.
S2: speak up? They know the hours I work and they blame me for it. Too slow because I'm usually too tired to think straight. Then anytime I'm logging off early it's a fire drill next day. I get sick and lose more time. I keep getting told I do too much but no one asking less of me.
Hum...sounds interesting....why does you feedback say that you take too long? Where did things go wrong? I can tell that at least the communication went wrong. And most importantly: why did you have to work all-nighters to get the work done? Can you share more details?
Fair enough OP: how did things get to this point? Did you lose people on the engagement that were not replaced? Did you schedule the team to work on this engagement? What changed from last year on this engagement? If, you lost people and they were not replaced when you asked for a replacement, this will give ammunition for a conversation with whomever gave you the review.
SM1: not one cause, staffing is part of the issue, and engagement already facing challenges, but can't say I've done everything right. Been in a hole for a while and done with it
