A HR question I really want to understand. ISRS HR quoted a podcast "The not so great resignation" saying 70% regret leaving and many want to go back to old employer. If this really the case the employee likely left due to higher pay at the new company. If they want to boomerang back they will likely come back at even a higher rate than they left the new company for. So getting double raise when they boomeranged. Isn't it unbeneficial, why not just give employee a 7% raise in the first place?

I’m being let go. It came as a surprise because my time with the company I’ve gotten positive feedback. A couple of weeks ago my boss told me that I was being put on a 30 day performance review plan. The last 2 weeks I’ve gotten positive feedback about improvement but on Thursday my boss decided to cut the review plan short and give me an end date.
