I'm not trying to convince you of anything. I couldn't care less what you think. Just offering my opinion. And you would do well to understand the difference (and level of public interest) of an expose that deals with a publicly traded company whose image and corresponding stock value directly impacts investors net worth the world over.... And a privately held partnership that actually tells other companies how to reduce costs through efficiencies and workforce "streamlining". Again, I don't blame you for feeling upset. You have every right to feel this way. But don't get your hopes up that our situations will be vindicated by some white knight reporter who is championing the cause of a bunch of people who used to make 6 figures and are now in the unfortunate position of needing to find a new job.

Yea... There is no way that someone who has such a lack of perspective and calls everyone "HR" is a 6-year veteran top performer. At the very least they would have been around for the culls that happened in 2010 and 2015 and would have understood how ridiculous they sound. But you do you.

People like op crack me up. I've been with this firm for 4+ years and I've never allowed myself to be put in an unethical situation. Also have watched my partner shut down shady shit that former clients have asked for. Not saying that each firm doesn't have its share of skeletons in the closet, but I've never been privy to any despite being in multiple practices in both federal and commercial advisory. The idea that some of these colleagues have that the WSJ gives a shit about how Pwc/Deloitte treats their employees just shows a lack of perspective. If and when that article comes out, it isn't going to be some big expose on how these private firms that actually have practices that advise companies on workforce reduction are... reducing their workforces. Its going to be an article about how the belt tightening at our firms is proof positive of a downward trend in current economic conditions. The only people on the planet who care about the feelings of people whose jobs start them right out of college at $75k with no discernible skills or societal value (while teachers will work their entire lives and never reach that mark) are consultants themselves. I'm not saying that you don't have reason to be upset; just that you are delusional if you think some front page story bemoaning the unfairness in any of our lives is going to be forthcoming from the WSJ. These layoffs suck, but the world doesn't gaf about us. Better to put our energy into something productive.

like

"Pwc is going down in FLAMES because of some rando lawsuit filed by a public utility and a WSJ article that will show the world how horrible it is to make insane amounts of money one day and be unemployed the next!" Dude, Pwc is being sued by MF global for one billion mother fucking dollars. I'm sure that the LA lawsuit and an "expose" about how you have been mistreated is going to bring this firm to its knees. 😒 Grow up. The world isn't fair. It sucks you got laid off (but now for some reason are afraid of all of us "hr" personnel who have nothing better to do on a holiday than look for former employees to shit on on FB). I feel bad for you (sincerely), but from one professional to another, you sound like a child.

@PwC7 is 100% correct. On all points. I've seen a lot more interventions of unethical or bad behavior early than rampant coverup culture. Also not a single soul outside our own community and friends/family care about consulting layoffs during a crap economy.

It's with the LA dept of water & power, one of the most inept public utilities in the world, think they are just trying to deflect the publics scorn on them by throwing pwc under the bus, but then again, consultants are known to enjoy themselves some good times, but doubt they would do it this way

I wouldn't be surprised truthfully, have heard about some CRAZY expenses in the past. PwC is also lacking in morals and ethics in general. Will be interesting to see how this pans out, I hope it goes to trial so we see all the juicy details

Okay something kind of weird happened. Started a new project today with all new people. We met in person today and manager left for home after checkout around 5PM. Three Associates on my team were planning to get dinner, I said I was going to bail to go workout and eat at home. This girl screams at me in front of the whole floor “you are so fake!! you are not going to workout. you’re being fake.” I’m just standing there in shock like what? Also, in EY I will be asked to work in client location. Where I might get into difficult situation Anyone would like to comment on this? Is my decision of selecting wipro correct?

I have an opportunity to take a contract to hire position with a previous client hotel chain at a 60% increase in my current salary. The catch is that it’s only for 6 mos. If I staff after that, it drops to ~170K, but with great benefits and position. Or I could not; could be cut loose, or move on. Any advice? Hoping to hear a success story, but I’ll take anything.

Question for fishes who love WFH and claim that they get to spend so much more time with friends and family b/c of it: do all your friends and family also WFH and have the same increased availability as you do? For instance, I WFH, but most of my family and friends still have to go to work due to the nature of their professions - so it's not like I can call my doctor friend or my electrical engineer friend and invite them to hang out during the day.
