What's a typical severance package look like?
Significant layoffs ahead and want to know what to expect should the worst happen.
Why did you leave your last job? Did you follow your passion, hated the work, got fired, wanted more money, etc?
Anyone ever been unexpectedly laid off? As in completely blindsided, was not ready at all for it? How did you bounce back?
It’s interesting how the big 3 (D, PwC,EY) all reported huge increase in revenue but laid off employees and offered only 2-5% increase for promotion. 😟
Better .com fired their whole diversity and Inclusion team over zoom. Do you think they weren’t seeking the increased profits attributable to D+I that many consulting firms promised?
Had some convos w/ frds who were laid off last week and seems like low util was the deadly sin.
Can ppl who got laid off kindly confirm the case so the rest of us know how to prep for the worst?
All my frds who were laid off had <30% util. Performance didn’t matter so much.
Welp, just got laid off from Havas. Who is hiring?
Layoffs still going on in Deloitte, PWC or KPMG?
We’re hiring a freelance brand manager. This is perfect for someone with 2-4 years experience, reporting to a Brand Supe. I’d love to give preference reviewing resumes & applications to someone laid off recently due to C19. It’s remote for now, but should be someone who would like someday to be in the Bay Area, and does not require visa sponsorship. Please share with your network! Joanna.Serna@argonautinc.com
This keeps me up at night: Knowing if I were to get fired, I wouldn’t have $ to support myself. Paycheck by paycheck living is the crux of my anxiety. What do you do when you’re let go? What’s savings
Just went through massive layoffs today. I’m safe, but most of my team got bad news — including a colleague who is pregnant and due in less than a month. Survivor guilt is very real.
I just landed a full time role in creative at an agency but I have PTSD from my last job. I know this is kind of a broad ask, but I could use any advice that would help me not be terrible at work and keep me from getting fired.
Whelp, just got back from vacation to discover my project has been Corona-cancelled. Anxious about what this means for future layoffs, but for now.... relaxation!
Edit: left a month ago, got stuck out
If you believe The NY Times, PLEASE stop accepting low ball offers (staff and freelance) and agreeing to significant salary reductions going forward. Only those in the c-suite benefit, not any1 else https://www.nytimes.com/2020/07/29/business/economy/ceo-pay-pandemic-layoffs.html?action=click&module=News&pgtype=Homepage
ACN peeps- Since all the firms seem to be doing it....have we heard any rumors about layoffs at Accenture? Just wondering when they would be most likely to happen?
Did Frances Haugen quit Facebook or got fired?
How bad do you have to be to get fired after your first busy season. Asking for a friend
Everyone thinks their firm is better than everyone else’s. Everyone who got fired or left a firm more than likely hates that old firm. Everyone who went Indy swears by sweet baby Jesus it’s the best
As a Front End Developer with 3 YOE how much should I expect? I recently got promoted to consultant.
I have 2-hour interviews 3 times this week. My firm requires that attorneys be in the office unless they need to work from home for some (good) reason. How can I attend the interviews without drawing suspicion? Note: if I say doctors appointment I’m worried my boss will ask for documentation.
Is it not green light?
For anyone that is CPHQ certified - how has this certification benefited you? Do you think it has improved your job prospects? Thanks in advance!
I had an interview and the recruiter told me the most they can offer for the role was $180 total comp. I tried to play my hand by saying it was too low and would want $210 total comp. She wished me well on my job search lol but now I feel like I should have agreed to the amount. Does it look bad to reach back out?
Stupid question BUT: does anybody need a freelance art director for small projects? Nothing fancy, just want to make some extra money while staying at home.
