Pwc is going to see a lot of resignations in the following weeks.. Who would want to stay until October to get the shitty 4K bonuses . I know someone who got 1K bonus and 2% increment.. He told the RP to keep it !

PwC is a lot more laid back than the other firms. I came from Deloitte and it's all the same. PwC surprisingly over pays for the mediocre talent I have seen. Layoffs happen because you have to trim the fat. The firm was expecting attrition and it never happened so they are doing it for us. Stop bitching about your job. Some get to travel M-Thur and alt travel around the states for free. We all probably have enough to points for a free trip to the most exotic places on earth. Majority of you all are making six figures doing a job a monkey can do. There are people out there that would die to have your job...remember that!!

The botched Booz acquisition, where they integrate them as a strategy vertical, pay them 30-50k more per level on salary and exponentially larger bonuses - while some of us do the same work as them, even on their projects. I came from another firm, so I can admit there is a major talent difference, but can't figure out why some of us (like me) work on s& engagements, but get horrible 4-7k bonuses while our counterparts are receiving 20-45k.

By laying off 15% of the staff, and not communicating with those who remain. Change management 101. Hr is garbage here and leadership only looks out for themselves and their pocket.

like

By watering down the coolaid instead of spiking it

like

By not paying what Deloitte pays. Our main competitor is out paying at every level, but we believe that we can maintain the talent to compete with them. Hahahaahahahaahahahahaahahahahaahahahahahaaahahahahahagahaha stupid

With this horrible attempt to normalize salaries. Only created confusion and animosity. Screwed a lot of good people.

like

I'll be that guy. Anyone that says the cohort modeling is "screwing" people over doesn't understand basic economics. If PwC is paying you less than the market rate for your talent than you should have no problem leaving and getting a job elsewhere that pays what you feel you deserve. My guess is that most complainers are overestimating the market for their skill set and background. If they weren't, then why aren't they going and making the big bucks elsewhere? OP - if you dislike PwC, then just leave. Posting on an anonymous mobile app that most people have never heard of is going to do exactly nothing.

A lax hiring policy.

I moved horizontally and got a 2% bonus and a $2k increase. Started with the company less than a year ago and feel like I haven't had any opportunities to make an impact because I've been stuck on the same shitty staff aug project since then. Fuck this shit. Feel deceived based on what I was told in recruiting.

like

They are majorly deceptive in recruiting and in general. They don't pay the best and it's way too much of an old boys club with the leadership. Plus everything associates do could be done by a responsible 5th grader. I feel like all I do is walk on eggshells here. They need to refocus.

Just left PwC so I'm down to talk shit. Also, i kept the dual monitor 🤑

Overhiring and strategy& acquisition. Cohort model is garbage. Saw the same thing happen while i was at deloitte. Bottom line- its a small world and the grass isnt really greener on the other side of the fence. It's all cyclical.

like

Haha layoffs also happen because leadership can't forecast accurately or sell work. Having two significant rounds just months away from each other = a sign that it's not just "trimming the fat," so cut the BS. Traveling M-Thur is not even a perk, especially when it stretches to M-F or Sun-F and also especially when we work double the hours of industry employees. And on that note, there is more to job satisfaction than money and perks.

PS: any company that has to resort to the "there are people out there that would die to have your job" line is a company with a toxic culture of fear. I really hope you're just another staff member drinking the Koolaid vs leadership/HR/brand management... the latter would signify that you're part of the problem.

OP. You are my new best friend. Let me buy you a drink. Where are you located? lol

First...with bearing point-Underpaid averagely smart workhouses if you ask me. Then we had diamond - overpaid smart assholes. Then Booz - overpaid averagely smart dipshits... Stir that bowl up and you end up with a cohort system.

In this case, is an MBA required to succeed or progress to the MD, partner, C Suite level? Or should I grind my way through the industry given my interests are so pointed?

Would love a convo and/or guidance.
