Unfortunately the cool people (consultants) have no participation in anything audit (oscars) related activities.

They need to send these advisory people there instead of grimy audit partners and senior managers to the red carpet and event.

At a company where you really need to “build your platform” (e.g., a big client) to get elected into the partnership. Have had several kids in the past few years and every time it sets me way back. I come back from mat leave and essentially whatever spot I had is gone. I know it’s “my choice” to have those kids but it’s frustrating that my company claims to want to support women/moms but I am essentially penalized for having kids. Am I wrong to feel frustrated by this? Any advice?

“What’s important are your skills… not your degree”. Got an email from our communications group at work today. Some coworkers who have a degree didn’t get this. In short it was saying “we want to help you grow your skills” with an invitation to talk to my manager and sign up for a “non degree development initiative”. As a professional in my 40s man, honestly felt demoralizing to get an email like that because I’m intensely sensitive around this topic. I don’t have a degree. Just some college

Hi fellow fish! Quick vent - I joined a small consulting firm as an associate consultant, little did I know the firm lacks collaboration, training, and documentation, as well as a manager who doesn’t know the product. I come from large size companies so there sink or swim figure it out on your own. Is not how I learn (it’s oracle product as well) How do I avoid this experience again? I get staffed on several projects at once (currently 5). I have about one major project, where I am basically the entire project team, and several other projects, where I have to help out. For example there is a presentation for a CDD tomorrow and I got a call to help the analysts on the team preparing the presentation last minute. Stupid question: does that rather mean that I‘m performing well or that they don’t trust me taking on bigger projects where I‘d be a part of a team?

Looking for MBA admission advice for my brother >>> After 10 years of coaching a college team sport, my brother wants to pivot, get an MBA from a top program, and join MBB. This is mostly driven by a desire to have a higher salary and different quality of life. He is planning to apply in 2023, so there’s time to prep. Please share your advice for 1) MBA Admission consultants you recommend, 2) what you think would resonate in an application essay, and 3) other general thoughts on this plan :)
