Yes but the truly surprising thing is that 88% of the people surveyed believe the management is doing a great job of running company. I guess fishbowl is made up of the 12% that don’t believe they are running the company well.

I like EY ! :) Fishbowl, in general, is a bunch of millennial complainers who don’t understand what a job is. I truly don’t understand how there can be so many people complaining on this app instead of just going to another job! Just leave! (Not anyone in this thread, just saying in general the others)

I’ve worked at all 4 firms. PwC is the least friendly/most arrogant.

What level were you when you followed the partner? Also tell us more about the harassment

Same with EY

It’s fine. KPMG has been number one of B4 on the list for years and the only headline I saw on internal emails went something like “we’ve done it again!” But no, we didn’t.

EY 3? All 4? Have you been to Deloitte?

More importantly @EY 3- can you tell us why/how/when have you worked at all 4 firms?

Harassed at PwC audit, left to go to Deloitte audit, bored of audit, went to KPMG advisory, followed a partner to EY Advisory.

EY3 Timelines

PwC > DT x 2 DT - frats, trump-like politics, super conservative auditors, lower materiality, digs into any and everything, <3 memos & comments PwC- better, friendlier people, higher materiality, a LOT less work (more logical too), better technology, just not as bad. B4 is a crab shoot in the end of the day. You knew what you signed up for, be thankful for what you have cause your shot at the table probably wasn’t as bad as a few of the unfortunate ones. #2wknoticedatbish

Thoughts on Masters in Environmental Management programs? UCSB, Yale, etc. I have a non-technical degree (Bachelor of Arts) and have been in management consulting at a Big 4 the last 5 years. I want to pivot my career to do something more meaningful - make a positive impact in the world, rather than continuing to help rich corporations get richer. Thinking that doing a Masters will help arm myself with environmental / sustainability knowledge and a network.

Anyone know if there is a policy around not referring someone from your old company (any of the Big 4)? Recently left big 4 as a senior and wanted to refer someone at current company but not aware if I had a non compete/no hire type of agreement or where I would even find out this info. TIA

I’ve already accepted a tax position at a big 4 that starts this summer, but just had a recruiter reach out to me from another big 4 about financial consulting staff position. Should I apply to the consulting position? And if I do apply should I tell them that I’ve already accepted a position or not bring it up

Looking at exit opportunities and job description says Big 4 experience in addition to helping prepare FS and helping prepare tax forms. I mean in Big 4 you're either in audit or tax.

Are there any extra considerations for Backdoor IRA from pension rollover? I received a $6200 payout from a B4 pension lump sum upon leaving the firm last year. I put deposited this as cash into a rollover IRA account, and at the beginning of 2022 did a backdoor conversion of $6000 into an existing Roth account. Are there any other tax considerations besides normal income tax for this process?

I have a supervisor who nitpicks things the way you would for an intern or a junior and I’m trying to navigate. I had a positive 6 month review recently so I think she sees it as constructive rather than cutting me down. For example, she will ask me to attend a meeting in her stead or write an email for her and she will completely edit my notes or my email not spelling errors or anything but completely reformatting and there’s no real pattern to the way she does it so I’m not learning. I get that having a “bad report” can be frustrating, BUT if you as a manager are choosing not to develop this human (no matter how basic the skill is), then you’re part of the problem. Soft skills development is just as important as hard skills development. Let’s discuss…

Currently working out of Philadelphia in Internal Audit and Risk Advisory for a top 10 public accounting firm. Most likely getting promoted to senior in the new FY. I want to make the switch to management consulting by the end of this year and jump to Big 4. Should I wait to switch after getting promoted to senior or it doesn’t matter? Any other tips? If someone wants to talk and refer me now, I’m all ears😅
