Who takes full day off for doc appt? I go during the day and get back to work
Sorry about that didn't mean to be insensitive
I use a sick day whenever I go out Thursday night and get home at 4am. Never had an issue except for that one time a manager in charge of scheduling asked me about my 50+ sick hours since Jan 1st
Wait.... So you guys get sick days and PTO? What am I doing wrong with life 😭
So.... Guess I will be applying to PwC
Never used a sick day, since we have the ability to just work from home- if you're sick, they tell you... You can work from home tho right ? 🙄
Never
@rsm1 & 2 - we need to do something about this. I just assumed accounting firms don't give sick pay.
Not a full day generally but you can charge sick hours. I have quite a few health issues so going back to work isn't always an option.
It's been 3 years and I haven't charged an hour of sick time...
PwC 4.. You're pretty cool dude.
@RSM1 Yep, PwC has unlimited sick days, holiday, and vacation hours (176 hours). We even get to charge lost time when we leave the office early the day before holiday starts.
I've never been told to work from home when sick. I've always just taken the day off. Never been sick the week of a filing though...
I use them for doctors appointments and such as well so probably 5-8 days max a year.
That is so crazy
I use them whenever I'm sick. Typically about 2-3 days a year unless I get the flu or something. Never had an issue taking.
Have used about 10 days this year.few of them were real and few of them were cause of laziness
I had surgery and used a weeks worth, then got flu this winter and used 3 days, then strep and another 2 days
It's all good. I think the main message is don't abuse it. No one is going to be counting your sick days as long as it's not like 10 days in a row and the work gets done.
I don't take time off unless client call
me out for being a biohazard... give them a noncommittal smile if they ask you about your "allergy," if they press on, insist that whatever you have is not contagious. Unless you are gagging for breath, that is too obvious; go home!
