Although depends on what you earn, but if you cash out those leaves while leaving the firm, it’ll be much more than 250.😋 (but I understand you can’t carry forward everything).

Thanks PWC1 for explaining it well. D1 - Not sure if you were thinking about this in a different way!!

I would imagine they're doing it to decrease their liabilities before switching to unlimited PTO.

Wait, its just anounced. How its implemented is a different picture. You are not a consultant if you trust everything another consultant says.

I would start updating my LinkedIn if the firm is paying me to take PTO. Speaks volume about state of business

Same, I had a thrilling PTO sitting in my living room

It’s not about 250 nor pto cash out. It’s about the firm’s gestures.

Obviously that’s part of it. But so is too many people not taking time off, which results in lower productivity, burnout and increased attrition, which is likely a greater cost, if rather hard to measure.

Lol they want people to take vacations in chunks, instead of spread out days

Uncle Ernie and Auntie Klara are besties with Uncle D. They did what he did. So, nothing.

I rarely find time to take leave in industry, and we just had a round of 10% layoffs in my group.

Banks are loaded with bad mortgage debt that cannot be foreclosed. They are also being pressured to show bigger profits. WFC has made A LOT of cuts in the last 3 months.

PTO in consulting is a joke. Was told to cancel a trip I had planned six months in advance the day I was supposed to leave when I was a bit younger. Took a month off (again in advance) after working my ass off to deliver a project for 1.5 years with almost no breaks and got called back to work a week in. Being in demand has helped me raise through company really quickly but I’m very close to being completely burned out and taking six months to a year of LOA. People here simply don’t practice what they preach at all.

You also have to set boundaries.

End goal: strategy at a large industry player (auto, apparel, etc) Is it more logical to use the mba to jump right into those companies or use the mba to get into Mbb/tier 2 and then jump?

Word to the wise. Always keep a mini sewing kit or change of clothes nearby for those days you split your pants down the middle at the client site.

I really need advice please. I’m a newly promoted S1 in Tax & I’m extremely conflicted. I really wouldn’t mind staying till manager. While I work extremely long hours, I find the work interesting & I enjoy working with my team. I don’t plan on having kids for a while so I really just want to do the best to put myself in a position where I will be the most successful in the long term. People who left at manager, do you think it helped or hindered you by staying that long?

Folks hoping to get some input from your experiences and the immigration professionals in this bowl. My sister is working out of Chicago and GC recruitment campaign failed. Similar campaign passed in Denver office and she was included in that campaign and notified that she will have to move offices to Denver. At what point does she have to move? I140 stage or as soon as PERM is approved? Does she have to be there now? Appreciate your thoughts on this matter.

Very annoying with SMs can't see the bigger picture and get caught up in minor details of things that don't matter to the goals and objectives of a project.
