Trivia question: What asset is this?
Hi All,
Persistent Systems is giving 10% variable on gross annual CTC. HR says you would receive minimum 70% of variable pay every month and remaining 30% will credited once a year at the end.
Does anyone has idea on this? Can I believe this and include 70% variable in my take home

Thanks P1 for suggesting that I should look on Spark which is both useless and outdated. While I do appreciate your concern over my commitment to the firm and my work life balance, I don't see how considering starting a business would impact my consulting career in general.
P1 if you think wanting to get to partner is the only reason that people do this job, you need to get out more. If you don't understand other people's goals and perspectives your chances to getting to partner are pretty slim.
Yes, this was a part of your training, and is on Spark. You shouldn't have time to run a business. It's not totally "no" but you are restricted in type and it really doesn't make sense to do if you value your career at PwC/consulting in general.
OP you asked about the rules right? Not PwC 1's opinion?
P2 I addressed the letter of the law, THEN the spirit. Try to keep up.
Pretty sure that's what I asked.
P1, guess your "spirit" was unnecessary....try to keep up
It's not outdated for running your own business, and doesn't address the fact that it was in your onboarding too. If you can't see how devoting a significant portion of your time to a business that could be billable hours, or practice development, or assisting on a pursuit, or networking, or training, then you're not going to make it that far anyway. Or to put it another way, do you know any partners that have a side business? And if you don't want to be partner, why are you doing this? Successful consultants barely have time for non-work activities like their family, and thus none for a side business.
