Hi All,
Persistent Systems is giving 10% variable on gross annual CTC. HR says you would receive minimum 70% of variable pay every month and remaining 30% will credited once a year at the end.
Does anyone has idea on this? Can I believe this and include 70% variable in my take home

McKinsey better brand by several orders of magnitude. Downside will be hours and less prestige than being on the more traditional path.

Manager in what at PWC? Gut reaction says McKinsey even though it’s not consulting. Ideally you never want to be in a company where you aren’t the main focus.
SWE = tech
Accountant = b4
Strategy consultant = MBB
And so on
Go to McKinsey, no questions asked. In 3 years your launch opportunities from McKinsey will MORE THAN COMPENSATE for this pay difference.
I'd suggest asking your McKinsey recruiter what impact level the role sits in / what the integrative equivalent is. This might be a manager-level role but please confirm with them.
Edited to add: also speak with them about progression on the T&D path since it's slightly different from classic consulting.
With this comp it’s yellow

If I were in your shoes I’d go with Mck for the brand and plan on exiting to tech after 2 years or so
Salary difference ?

Do you want to do manager tasks or individual contributor tasks? They're different jobs
I would take the McKinsey, then. I prefer IC work as well and have recently moved away from thinking of Management as a promotion -- the work is different and you aren't generally paid much more in management
I’d actually go for PwC. Is the McKinsey role a client facing role or an inhouse software engineering role? Lol..everyone on this thread knows that if it is not you should go for the PwC role. Why are y’all lying…
Lol that’s true but objectively an in-house role at McKinsey will not be seen in the same light as a consulting role at PwC. The brands are not that far off for their consulting departments let alone an in-house position. Both are top consulting firms.

Get the money
McK if you want to have a clear mind during the recession period. Sounds like this is for client tech, it’s a safe spot.
Thanks.
It's internal McKinsey.
