Anyone at Deloitte know how to view utilization?
Deloitte question. I have always gotten a raise each year, the only question I ask is how much of a raise do I get. But I’m hearing from former Deloitte folks, it is naive to expect annual raises each year however small/big they are? And how does this play in Deloitte consulting vs advisory? Do one tend to withhold annual raises in base salary over the other, or is this just a deloitte culture thing? Looking at exit opportunities all over. So lmk! I’d Rather get a small raise than none at all.

Sorry, what’s Boston consulting group? Some local shop in the northeast?

Growth is very dependent on Geo for top firms. Also all of them will tell they are the better, etc.
You can check some benchmark sources for revenue, which is the best available metric we have
Like I know that 2019 Bain grew more, percentage-wise, than McK and BCG. BCG grew more than McK, and McK had a "not-so-good" year for their standards.
2021 all I know is that first internal results Bain was also leading, with McK in second. BCG is currently having a hard time trying to keep great deliveries, growth and their abusive partner rates
Interesting. Not sure BCG margins are much different to M or B. In fact I’d heard Bain has slightly higher given lower level of support functions

When I was there not too long ago, They were both constant topics of discussions since we were losing more and more cross offers and our practice area wins rate were starting to fall in healthcare, public sector, and PE. It also didn’t help that we kept getting slapped by negative press. We focused on messaging to clients that we were bigger, had been doing this for longer, and had more expertise.

> Strategy consulting is declining
> Also strategy consulting revenue has been steadily increasing since 2009, apart from 2020*
* 2021 revenue is expected to surpass 2019 levels
Not true, we’ve had double digit growth every year for the last 6 years apart from 2020. I can see from BCG’s public numbers that it is the same story, McK probs similar but slower. And this year is on track to be absurd (25%+ plus).
If you are able to reach double digits it is very much a conscious decision to hold growth there, or to push on further by hiring more.
We’re all growing, and there’s plenty of headroom. It’s great for us fish as there’s pay rises and promotion opps aplenty.
I will say that I think Bain may grow faster over the next few years by virtue of smaller scale. There’s still a lot of low hanging fruit we haven’t gone after (e.g. growing in some of our smaller sectors and geos) which McK did ages ago, and BCG has done in the past 5-7 years
