Q: Recently went through some personal trauma, then started a new job. I am noticeably quieter due to trauma overhang. Trauma has been prolonged due to loss of parent, then job loss, loss of network.

Quite time is needed for your mind/body to recover. You will come back to yourself when it’s time ... the “real you” didn’t go anywhere, just reshaping for the new chapter

Sorry for your loss OP. Loss of a parent is heartbreaking. You might want to consider therapy. I took the longest time to come to terms and finally therapy helped me cope with the situation. Read or watch shows that make you laugh. It helps you stay a little upbeat. Take care! 🤗

Need advice. My roommate has anxiety/depression and has been experimenting with drugs like ketamine. He’s always been super chill but freaked out on me violently last week over something small and made me feel super unsafe (I think he was on drugs). Does anyone here struggle with basic things at work? For example, being on time. Less than a year before I can retire and not sure I can make it. The stress at home, work and with the aches and pains of my 54 year old body are taking their toll. I wake up every weekday and dread the coming 14 hour day. I live for the bliss of two days off on the weekend when I can attempt to just ignore everything until Monday morning.
