Are there any recruiters from IBM who have information on their apprenticeship program (Soft Eng)? I have applied and my application is under review. How much knowledge/skill set does one actually need to get into the new collar program? From what I have gathered online, it's kind of a mixed bag and can take a long time to onboard someone. I am self taught, know the basics of two languages and have some small projects to show. Just wondering if there is anyone that has been through this process.

I bought the vitamins at Target, not sure what brand. My doula recommended vitamin code
I met my now-husband at 28, we got married last year & are expecting our first child now (I’m 34). It happens when you least expect it. At 28, I had basically given up hope that there were any decent guys left...certainly no one that checked off my lengthy list of criteria. & our of nowhere, someone who was totally opposite to the type of guy I normally went for, popped out of the blue.
Congratulations on the baby 💗💗

I’m almost 35 and pregnant for the first time. My doc always said “between the ages of 34-36, you can start thinking of fertility.” Chill, girl. You are young!
Rising Star
Yes, my doctor said that. Yes, it’s a geriatric pregnancy, which is just a name. I am not geriatric and it means one more scan later in the pregnancy and nothing crazy.
I knew I may need help so started looking into my fertility more seriously at 33 with testing, etc (I have PCOS).
Had a baby last September, 3 months before my 41st birthday. You're just a baby yourself, don't fret 😉
Totally agree! But I sure do wish I had some eggs on ice from yesteryear 🤣
Don’t say that, 27 is still so young and you have time. My boyfriends sister got married at 32 and having a child at 34. Everything will work out! ❤️
Do not worry - enjoy this time! I had my first kid at 36 and am having my last at almost 42.
Damn girl, share some of your fertility with the crew
Ladies check out this article from the Atlantic. It goes more in-depth on fertility data.
https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2013/07/how-long-can-you-wait-to-have-a-baby/309374/
“The widely cited statistic that one in three women ages 35 to 39 will not be pregnant after a year of trying is based on an article published in 2004 in the journal Human Reproduction. Rarely mentioned is the source of the data: French birth records from 1670 to 1830. The chance of remaining childless—30 percent—was also calculated based on historical populations.”
“Surprisingly few well-designed studies of female age and natural fertility include women born in the 20th century—but those that do tend to paint a more optimistic picture. One study, published in Obstetrics & Gynecology in 2004 examined the chances of pregnancy among 770 European women. It found that with sex at least twice a week, 82 percent of 35-to-39-year-old women conceive within a year, compared with 86 percent of 27-to-34-year-olds. (The fertility of women in their late 20s and early 30s was almost identical.)”
Well put!
Please try to find a meaning and purpose for your life outside of children - even if you have them, you and them will be happier if you have much outside of them. And if for some reason you do not, there is so much else to fill your life with.

Thank you for sharing some perspective, I definitely feel the rush of having children because of all the misconceptions that my fertility was going to drop off as soon as I entered my 30s. I also broke up with someone that I dated for 7 years because he didn’t see children in his future (he is 32) and I’m not going to force anyone into parenting and that just feels like mother telling me that my clock is ticking. I know it’s irrational but I appreciate all the stories and support from this group. I appreciate you all. ❤️
Up next, business school!
You can definitely meet someone at school. Good luck 👍

Girl what?? I’m 27 and haven’t even thought of fertility. But totally agree, I’m single and no prospects in sight for the distant future thanks to quarantine.
29. Same. Panic attacks every now and then at the thought of never having a baby

Can relate! However, you also don’t want to have a baby with someone you are not sure about. Hang in there :)
What Bain said!!! I have waaaaay too many friends who jumped the gun marrying the wrong person so they could start having babies. Now they are ALL on their second marriages, and stuck sharing their kids 50/50 with their ex-spouses.

Omg 26 and thinking this
On the same boat! it’s especially tough seeing some of my girl friends settle down and I’m no where near getting married and having a kid.
Married at 29, baby #1 at 31, baby #2 at 33. It’s been a whirlwind. Before I met my husband I was convinced that there were no good guys out there. Don’t worry too much!
I felt like this in my late 20s. Met someone in my early 30s, married at 35, babies at 37 and 38. You have so. much. time.
Good lord... you're 27.
Froze my eggs at 28 and am so glad I did!! I was def not ready to have kids in my late 20s, was able to travel and live in 3 major cities...I also can’t imagine having a kid at the moment (I’m 31) 🤭
The pandemic and the quarantine, they just are. Resisting and resenting them won’t change the situation, and will only cause you suffering. If you can accept reality as it is and then say, ‘what opportunity does this present me with?’, you may find that things will work out even better for you. Paddling with the current gets you farther than paddling against it.
