I went for my h1b visa stamping and got a section 221g and they gave me the passport back and i received an email asking for background information for past 15 years to which i responded with a detailed response. This was my second h1b stamping, i got the first one successfully last year with no issues, and not sure why i got section 221g this time. I had not changed any job, the stamping was for the same exact job. Anyone has any insight or been in the same boat? Should i be worried?
Hi- I was curious to know if receiving 221(g) on approved H1B change of status applications is common. I’m previously an F1 and switched over to H1B recently. I have my appointment upcoming and was curious about the commonality of the occurrence.
Hi! Debating whether to travel home over holidays this year. My visa expires this month and have changed employers since getting it stamped. Thoughts based on news releases, and experiences welcome
Best airline to transfer chase points to??
Does Fidelity have Zelle? I transferred my assets to Chase to avoid long transfer times as they use to be in Schwab, but I see Schwab has Zelle now. Does Fidelity?
Anyone know what happens if your credits score isn’t high enough to get the corporate Amex?
If my EOS for L1 is denied, is there any mechanism for recapturing time on the original visa period? Set to expire in Feb and probably won’t have i485 approved until the end of next year.
I'm going to a symposium on 11/13 in Arizona. This will be my first time booking a trip via corp Amex card.. for my EY peeps out there, are there any restrictions as far as what airlines one can use?
I'm on a L1-A visa and thinking of starting the GC process with my employer. Before transferring to the US, I managed a team of multiple direct reports in a Director/Head of Function role. In my new/current job in the US (for which the company transferred me), however, I have only 1 person with a dotted line reporting to me (matrix structure). In this role I manage a function. I'm working as trader with flat hierarchy creating multi Mln EBIT. Will I still qualify for the EB 1C filing?
Welcome to Ex H1B bowl. Anyone and everyone who's moved or palnning to move to Canada from the US, while stuck in the green card backlog.
I am getting h4 cos and h4 ead application filed by my spouse’s lawyers. Deloitte immigration team asked me to do so.Does Deloitte reimburse any amount? lawyer’s fees or application fees?
Has anyone else seen their credit card bill go from a reasonable amount to the danger zone overnight? This always happens to me and I’m determined to actually save money this month. Help!
Chase Freedom Unlimited vs Chase Freedom Flex. Thoughts on which to get? It seems the only different is the Unlimited gives you 1.5% on all “other” purchases, and the Flex gives you only 1% on “other” but a 5% category you choose each quarter. Both have the same intro offers, including 5% groceries for the first year, and 5% travel thru Chase, 3% restaurants and drug stores forever. Thinking the Flex is the better pick out of the two but maybe im missing something
Hello, How long is it taking nowadays to receive physical approval notice of H1B? This is from Nebraska center.

My fiance and I are thinking of getting a joint bank account and credit card, but not sure if 1. We should wait till we're married and 2. What the best bank/credit card option to use is, which won't require exorbitant fees
How is Deloitte’s info tech services comp plan compared to consulting ? I have a recruiter chasing me a senior manager role as product manager .
$1.5M client and new “profitability tool” showing %0 profit. Credit split 50/50 btw 20 year attorney/equity partner (JEP) and a much more senior/connected EP (SEP). Both SEP and JEP developed separate workstreams unrelated to the other. SEP‘s was terminated 3 years ago and only accounts for $200K trail off of the $1.5M. SEP’s salary is 3 times JEP’s. Profitability tool “costs” are not transparent, suspect SEP’s high salary is a factor. Anything (other than typical overhead) to ask about?
Is the interview process to get into IBD harder or easier than top consulting firms like BCG/McKinsey/Bain? Where do the truly smart people work nowadays?
CEO is hosting a town hall on Zoom to say there will be no layoffs and no salary cuts and someone has just used the chat to ask for a stipend to buy a chair. This is why we can’t have nice things
Anyone here exit PwC? Do you know if they honor 2 week notices? What were things you did to maximize your benefits prior to your last day?
Are raises at Ey consistent across regions for same service lines and rank? For ex. Would a 4 rated GCR senior 1 get same raise % in Southwest and North East and Central? Or is it different by region?
How much of a salary increase (%) is standard or expected when switching consulting firms for a similar level / role? Currently at 150K and was offered 170K (13% increase) — obviously the total package needs to be considered but the base salary is arguably the most important factor. Appreciate your thoughts & any advice!
Have people in San Francisco never seen a person wear camo before? Tf you keep staring at 🙄
What are the current signing bonus claw back periods at each of the b4? I think PwC is around 3 months only but I’ve heard EY is up to 2 years?
Has anyone been hired from an SA position to an MD Product Owner role in a financial firm? Currently in the process of interviewing and the recruiter mentioned a 70% bump from my current base...
I’m leaving my firm and going on a 3 day trip to meet new firm. I need an excuse to be out of office for 3 days. Covid? Stomach bug?
Anyone switch to MBB from big 4?
Ayy got an RPU for Christmas! Makes the flight back to client site this week suck that much less
I’m in a final round at Uber, but worried I’m there to just fill the diversity candidate spot from their “Rooney rule” policy. Anyone have any advice on how to figure out if that’s true or am I just being crazy?
How sad is your life, if the biggest reason to move into an apartment alone is to avoid wearing pants on wfh and weekends.
I am interviewing for an in house job. Large startup in Europe (had Series C and raised 150M) and is starting a US presence. They want to pay base and bonus but bonus is all RSUs/options. It’s significant (about 75% of all in comp). Are these entirely worthless if the company never goes public?
How do you mentally deal with the stress of this work and these (demanding Wall Street) clients? I’m a senior m&a associate leading multiple deals and every client wants a quick turn around and response times around the clock which is impossible to keep up for each one. I feel like im not giving the best service even though I’m working late nights and weekends. I’m close to promotion but wondering if I’m not cut out for this (seeing some health affects) or if all I need is a mindset change.
On a project in Charlotte,NC for a while. Any recs on places to eat / dessert spots or coffee shops / things to do?
