I need to vent. I officially feel DEFEATED in my job search. I’ve been searching for over two years! I’ve had a handful of interviews with companies that don’t come close to my currently salary. I made it all the way through Meta and Amazon interview loops and I didn’t make the cut. Those hurt bad as both those companies require all day interview sessions. A total of 10 interviews at each company. I feel I may never get out of consulting 😢

I need help figuring out if I’m being underpaid. I’m working in real estate private equity and I focus on fund models and property valuations. I’m currently at base $80k and 20% bonus. Drowning. Joined firm last summer, brought a decent little book, primarily litigation associate. I’ve been buried in numerous matters from my transferring clients and matters at my new, small-ish firm. I get consistently favorable results, im in the office all week, manage all my cases independently. After 6 months, just told billables are too low, turnaround time is too high, and theyre concerned about my fit. I feel like I’ve just been launched into a bunch of matters with little/no guidance.

Got an offer for Atlassian Canada - senior product manager. Initial offer is 160k base +15% annual bonus (24k) + 20k sign on bonus. RSU is 220k USD payable over next 4 years. There's no RRSP match (401k match equivalent). Considering its Atlassian, and current market rate, I think base is low. I would like it to be bumped upto to 180k. The recruiter earlier said the top of the pay range is 165k, which I feel is not really top but maybe median? Help me negotiate please; historically suck at it.

My coworker has just resign and I’m thinking of talking to my manager to see if instead of them hiring a new employee to increase my salary (my current salary + what this coworker is currently making) and I will take care of all of her responsibilities. I’ve been to a few interviews for other jobs, but I either don’t get a call back or the salary is too low.
Is this a good idea?
My main concern right now is to increase my salary. Have many bills to pay and want to start saving.

6 years at a start up and the first to break through Mm and now Ent accounts. I broke the comp plan. I was paid a lower commission rate as the first rep hitting high numbers. The guys behind me they adjusted commission rates and spiffed them to equal and in some cases surpass my pay. My revenue as the top rep is a full third higher than the number 2 rep. To save their asses they promoted me and gave me a small base bump but kept my commissions % low so that my high number was my new at plan.

Unable to decide to leave my current company. They are actively blocking my growth and I got an offer for a title promotion, but a significant pay cut. The new job offers $100k, 26 days pto, hybrid 2/3 remote, 37.5 hours a week. My current job (7yrs) offers $102k, 42 days pto, office optional 35 hrs a week. With the new job being in CT, the increase in taxes, 3x increase in insurance premium, and travel to and from, I am looking at $700 a month pay cut. Is career advancement worth $700 a month?

Been with my current employer for 10 years. Secure position, secure company. Want to move out of state, so starting over at a new company and that brings uncertainty. Has anyone been able to negotiate a severance package upfront as part of the package? I do not want to find myself in a dire position if the worst case was to happen where I fired from the new job. I know…long shot worst case but current position and company has security.

The recruiter said I will receive written offer this week but their process has been very slow and I'm yet to go ahead with background check which will be after that. I am also interviewing at company B and I'm in the final round. I want to work for company A but still don't want to be overconfident and reject other interviews. Hey! I got an offer today from R@kuten for Sr Business Analyst of CAD $110K+15% annual bonus. Verbally in conversation with recruiter I had asked for CAD 115+10% annual bonus. I was initially offered $110k+10% annual bonus. I think I’ve already priced myself low which might be decent (not sure) for Toronto but way less in comparison with Bay Area where most of team will be based off. Any advice on how to ask for more base or joining bonus?

I’m used to sales roles having a base+ commission structure with bonuses. If they are offering just a base, how would you take into account negotiations?

So, I should be negotiating for my pay soon for my Administrative Assistant job. Currently making 13/hr as a Temp to Hire in the position. Research for State, National, and Industry averages has been mostly unhelpful because they're all different. The lowest Average is 35k, and the Highest average is 45k. How can I try to convince my boss that I'm worth the 45k? Especially since it would be an over 50% pay increase.
