Question - are most of you ladies already married or are you dating? Recently divorced and trying to get back out there, I've never really had to "date" I met my ex-husband in college and we got married right after. Is it a bad idea to go on a date with someone from work? Should I look to date people who are also in government work? Are dating apps worth it or should I just go to singles events or something? The dating world is definitely challenging these days - especially the older you get. I would advise against dating someone you work closely with, but finding someone in the same general line of work can be good, since you'll already have something in common. I ended up meeting my current boyfriend on a dating site, but it took many bad (cringe) experiences to finally find "the one." Don't give up.

Oh boy, yes please avoid dating at work - ESPECIALLY at this point in your life. Take it slow and understand it will take some time to get back in that headspace in terms of dating.

Highly recommend focusing on yourself and enjoying some alone time first - or make it a goal to make new friends rather than find someone right away. I think singles events and MeetUp are great for that.

If you don't mind me asking, how long has it been since the divorce. I highly suggest making time for yourself after a long-term relationship, and in your case a marriage to rediscover yourself. Take yourself out on dates as you would a lover and learn to enjoy your own company.

24, a decent amount of savings in the bank. I’m sort of interested in buying a property in the next few years.
Is this a good or bad idea? I live in Ny area, so obviously the city would probably be too expensive to buy any property. Would probably have to buy further out in westchester, Long Island, maybe connecticut or NJ. If I buy, should I be living there? Or should I rent it out until I’m ready to live there (assuming it’s a bit further from the city). Very early stages of just thinking

I saw a place I really like and want to live in as my primary residence for a while. I don’t want to put 20% down, though. Is there any way for me to get this place if the current owner has it rented out until August 2022 without buying it as investment property?

Looking to shift from litigation to corporate roles. Considering these difficult times, does it make sense to take a corporate in-house paralegal position within a large company?

The goal would be to use the position as a foot in the door to this new practice area. It has been difficult to land a job within litigation, let alone switch practice areas. Thoughts?

My team has made tremendous efforts during the pandemic to ensure the safety of all facilities and people in our region as we resume in-office activity. Predicated on confidentiality, my colleague went to HR with negative feedback re a specific leader’s flexibility with the *mandatory* PPE protocol. The HR Manager went directly to the leader and gave the feedback along w my colleagues name. Since that day she’s been heavily “taxed.” HR has a responsibility to protect anonymity. How to handle?
