Let him find a job now at Deloitte. I believe there’s no wait period to have parental leave and men have full 4 months too

And I’m expecting next year as well, my husband has 6 weeks and I still don’t think that’s enough (but he works from home and looks like his work load is not much so that’s good). OP, unless there’s family helping you through the first month, I don’t think it’s easy to take care of everything on your own for the first couple of weeks - you should be sleeping and nursing and nothing else

PwC also just has parental leave. So men and women get 12 weeks I think then return to work 60% time 100% pay. 2 weeks is crazy.

like

To answer the question simply, yes the policy at kpmg differs for the female vs male. Male gets 2 weeks I believe if non-primary caregiver OR 6 weeks if primary caregiver. Most men I work with opt to take 2 weeks of PTO when baby is born and then taken 6 weeks when they are the primary caregiver (aka when their partner goes back to work).

like

Ohhhh good idea!

like

I think it is 6 weeks unless you spouse is working, then maybe longer?

Women get more, I believe up to 26 weeks. Some of that is only 66% of pay.

Yes it is different. And it is different for the male depending on if they are the primary or not primary. Does your boyfriend work at KPMG?

Two weeks is actually fairly common practice in both PA and industry for paternal leave unless they are the primary caregiver.

like

2 weeks is more than most people outside of PA and consulting get. My spouse had to use pto for any days he took - no parental leave time.
