Question for all the moms out there: What were your favorite/most useful gifts you received when you were pregnant? What are some items you can’t live without (specifically related to pregnancy/newborns)?

Things on my registry, I spent a ton of time on there. While I was pregnant, things for me (like candles and lotions) were so nice and I always smile about the person that sent them when I use them. But after baby, things like MagenticMe onesies, unique books, bum cream, MamaRoo, and blankets have been favorites. I honestly think anything the mom puts on her registry is appreciated though.

For me - nice pjs and a nice robe.

I liked a simple bath thermometer. On subsequent babies I knew by feel, but I was nervous about bath water temp on my first. Cotton muslin blankets (ones large enough to swaddle, sit on, use as nursing covers) were great too.

I recently lost a parent. It seems so unfair that if this happened during the summer I would only have to pretend to be ok for 40 hours a week, as opposed to now where 60 hours is the expectation.

Teacher, I need help …. When you see, out of compliance IEPs, students not getting FAPE, treated differently for integration from their peers… who helps you? Union won’t, parents are not even involved with their child so that’s not a help, I emailed all the possible emails for Department of Ed , and all those listed under IDEA/ADA… I don’t know what else to do…

I got an email last night from a 7th-grade parent because her son said I mentioned the words "male privilege" in class, and she is very concerned about how that is related to ELA (she said "reading"), and she is concerned about this being taught in public schools. To be clear, I didn't do a lesson on this subject but we did discuss rights versus privileges. I've had multiple parents contact the school/get upset with me because of things like his. It's exhausting... Thoughts?

Friend runs a company and hired a VP of Sales to help grow the business. Guy got some relocation $ and was supposed to start 2 months ago. Ever since he said his kid had an accident and from that point on kept pushing the start date back claiming he has to do something related to the accident. He hasn’t sent any proof to HR, has been requested twice claims he will but then doesn’t. And has pushed his start date back half a dozen times. How should I advice him to proceed?

Expecting a baby this summer. Should I still be looking for other job opportunities? EY has a very generous paternity leave if you’ve been with the firm for 1+ years, but not sure if I would have the same opportunity to take 2-3 months leave if I switch jobs.
