I am a Sr Digital Marketing Analyst (w/10 yrs exp) at a large matrix org. I've been here for about 2 years and haven't once been tasked or had the opportunity to actually analyze any data for decision support or otherwise.

All of what I do is what I would consider data engineering, troubleshooting issues with data sources and DW connections & most of my institutional knowledge relates to our data systems, etc.

- How many others out there have been in a similar situ? How to address w/mgr?

What are you learning these days?

I feel I am kinda lost about to do next after working in the agency analytics world for 5 year. Definitely want to switch to tech as the pay is higher and the work looks more interesting to me. Couple of paths that I have been considering: data scientist, data engineering, product analytics. Would like to be in more technical roles for the next couple of years. And would maybe like to be in product manager/manager role after that. What type of role would be the next best step.
