A lot of my friends and colleagues want to migrate into corporate strategy or BizOps and I feel compelled to want that as well - but I’m happy in sales.
The pervasive attitude seems to be that sales is a lower pedigree than strategy - do Corp Strat/ BizOps folks in tech make more money or are seen as more prestigious? Google Facebook (Meta) Amazon Stripe Netflix

I don't ever wear makeup on the job because really no one cares. I go in with just brushing my hair or leaving it wet if I've washed it, and keep a butterfly clip on me to pin it back when needed. I wear flats most of the time but comfy heels occasionally. Im generally someone who really cares about how I look and I love makeup, but after the insanely long hours I've realized that all that matters is that you feel comfortable after 15+ hours of wearing the same thing. As long as you're neat and clean it doesn't matter. By the same token, I've started to wear looser fitting clothes that still look nice.
Did not mention OP getting defensive, just ladies on this thread in general and not particularly in response to my comment. See above discussion. In general, if you don't have time do you and don't care what ppl think. Some will judge your wet hair and think it s sloppy, some will not. Maybe mentioning a workout is worth it. Maybe you can have a team event at a spin class some morning, so everyone is in the same boat. Be creative, if you don't want to spend or don't have time to get as done up as u d like. Bring makeup in your car to work idk. We do find time to do things we find important no matter how busy we are like spin classes :) we have the tools that help us be more beautiful, why not use them.
Depends on how attractive you are.
No. No one cares.
Buns are for quitters
I have big, curly hair. I regularly go to client site with wet hair (up in a bun) on mornings when I work out. NBD. It takes me 30 minutes to blow dry - ain't nobody got time for that. #feminism
Rookie move honey, should've made a separate post for that^
I switched to sweater dresses and leggings (it's like wearing an adult onesie!). I only wash my hair once during my travel week & use dry shampoo. Make up I just do Dr Jarts BB and a thin eyeliner. Poof, done !
Shower at night and/or only wash hair every other day. Dry shampoo in between. Aveda makes a great one I love!
If you're a 7 or below then it doesn't matter as nobody cares either way how you look. If you're a 8 or higher then you have to put in the work.
Ladies, let's be real....this is the best you'll ever look in life. Take some pride and look your best.
Shut up A1
When you are the only female on a team of 14+ dudes (and the youngest by several years) I think it matters. Helps you gain credibility with the client if it looks like you have your shit together.
When you just downloaded fishbowl, reveal to your gf that you made your first reply and it's on her post....
Now it's awkward....
Have your shit together but that doesn't mean looking like a supermodel. It's really condescending and rude to expect women to put in more effort when just decent grooming and hygiene is sufficient. I don't think how you look (beyond a certain baseline level) is going to differentiate you in terms of career prospects. And if it did, you men would just complain it's unfair treatment. We can't win
Wet hair? Totally unprofessional. Take the time to do the basics.
As long as it's neat, who cares if your hair isn't down. I opted to cut my hair short which makes it quick to blowdry. I do have to get a cut every 3 weeks but it's worth it
If men can come in with their hair wet then I can too
I'm sick of getting notis on this thread
+1 for the dry shampoo!
