Question for the ladies: I'm getting sick of spending so much time getting ready for work. Would it really matter if I tried less (eg wore my hair in a bun everyday, wore less makeup)?

Depends on how attractive you are.

With you on this let's revolt! As in, let's look revolting

I'm a guy, so take this with a grain of salt. I honestly don't notice your appearance unless you look like hell. This is because I'm just as exhausted as you are, and frankly I can control myself.

like

@JPM3 It is a hassle and ridiculous that it's part of "looking professional". You're not the only one.

like

I wear makeup (foundation, mascara, maybe eye makeup) everyday without fail. Hair clean and down once or twice a week, in a tidy bun the rest of the time. Hair up looks more professional than down if you're going to play with it or let it cover your face.

Don't listen to MS1. Shower at night and wash hair every other day. Dry shampoo in between. Aveda makes a great one!

like

How much makeup is really required for us female analysts?

like

If you want to streamline go with a tinted moisturizer and just mascara.

like

@JPMC3 damn girl, sounds like overkill a little... Ditch the eyeliner at least. (F)

like

If I am running late: tinted moisturizer, eye primer, mascara, lip stick and here I go!

like

Ditto to that. Hair down is totally fine...just make sure it is brushed or at the very least doesn't look like you were dragged through a hedge backwards @ms1

like

@GS1 I just find it so annoying, and I can't be the only one who thinks its a hassle every morning

like

Most of the MDs don't wear makeup. If I don't have time I do concealer, blush and lipstick only

like

I wear foundation, bottom eyeliner, mascara, blush and lipstick and it's so annoying. I wish I can minimize all of that process into like one or two things.

like

@BAML1 thank you!!

like

No. Hair down is fine. That's ridiculous. @MS1

like

Yes it would 🙋

like

@JPM3 it shouldn't be much but the sad part is even "basic" makeup is at least an extra 10 minutes in the morning.

After 6 months, I ran out of fucks to give. There's cute guys at work anyways, so why bother.

like

Honestly - never wear it. Maybe a little mascara. But wash your hair every day FOR SURE.

I started working in a agency two months ago, and I have two very big projects running simultaneously. My Creative Director left for paternity leave, and left me with all the work, facing the client, going to shootings, editing. I've been working 15 days straight, no weekends. The agency hasn't given me any back up/someone I can team up with to do the job. Is this normal? I'm used to have a partner, a copywriter or another creative working alongside. Keep in mind that I'm mid-level.

Random Question - I live with a roommate for the last 2 years now. We have become really good friends and she is like a sister to me. We used to hangout and do a lot of fun stuff before COVID. When I make a plan to do something during COVID, I always include her to do or go somewhere. Of late, when she makes plans, she goes on her own or if she goes with her friends (whom I know), she would not invite me. I feel left out and sad because of it. I think I should not feel that way as she can
