What about trying the straw cups instead? Honey bear straw cups
Straw cup or the munchkin 360 cup

We like these
We used juice boxes and at first would squeeze the box to push juice through the straw. We very rarely give juice, so he was highly motivated to figure out how to get more out - worked like a charm!

Our baby does the best with the nuk sippy cups and this small open cup.

Awesome, thanks everyone! I think we will try a straw cup next!
The munchkin straw cups were a win for us. Took our little guy about a week or two to get the hang of it, and we started out with a water/pedialite mix too. He got it though! Keep trying!
Munchkin 360 is the type the pediatrician and dentist recommended to prevent oral issues. Traditional sippy cups are not spill proof/resistant as these cups and also they don’t teach you how to sip from a real cup so you have to train a 2nd time, and lastly not good for oral long term according to both my docs.
It was much easier to teach my kid than the original sippy cups anyway, as well. Kept thinking it was a bottle and would cry when nothing came out.
We have never used sippy cups. Straight to drinking from a straw cup. Munchkin Any Angle Click Lock Weighted Straw Trainer Cup and now we use the Spill proof Contigo cups - which we only use for water. For anything other than water one of the ezpz tumblers with a lid and straw but since he won’t drink milk it doesn’t get used often
The honey bear straw cup helps them learn how to suck liquids up because you can squeeze it gently, and then they figure it out quickly. Also much easier to wash than other cups. 2 Pack Honey Bear Straw Cups with 4 Flexible Straws & Cleaning Tools(2 Straw Brushes &1 Bottle Brush), 8-Ounce Therapy Sippy Bottles for Speech and Feeding Training, Leak-Proof & Food-Grade & BPA Free https://a.co/d/iX50YuH
