I applied for a job titled “Office Manager and Financial & Operational Support” for a Golf Technology company directly through the company site. This is a step back career wise, with hopes of getting into the industry. I believe I am overqualified with a Masters degree and years of various experiences. I didnt eve get to the convo with a recruiter. How often do companies deny applicants for being overqualified? What are y’all’s thoughts?

I'm a senior software engineer with 10 years of experience. I've been with my current company for 5 years. I started at 100k and now I'm only at 116k, which means they haven't even kept me up with inflation.

I got an offer but there was a discrepancy in graduation month, I noted May but it was actually December. Was asked to provide explanation so now I am waiting to hear back.

How serious is this type of discrepancy?
