Question for the recruiters & hiring managers out there. I applied for a job titled “Office Manager and Financial & Operational Support” for a Golf Technology company directly through the company site. This is a step back career wise, with hopes of getting into the industry. I believe I am overqualified with a Masters degree and years of various experiences. I didnt eve get to the convo with a recruiter. How often do companies deny applicants for being overqualified? What are y’all’s thoughts?

I don’t believe you are overqualified. Perhaps your resume was not interesting enough or it more than likely didn’t even get past ATS.

Hello All,
Anyone having vacancy in Network Security or willing to refer in your organization? I have 10.08 years of relevant experience and currently working at Coforge, Noida.

Greatly appreciated!

Currently working tax at a Midsized firm, the largest in my city, and we have reached a tipping point where every additional resignation means more work for those left. The firm has only doubled down on old rhetoric demanding people back in office and 55 hrs min a week to get the work done.

This is my first white collar job, and I'm wondering if every firm is like this, if I should jump ship too, or if I'm being a stupid millennial.

Any guidance would be great.

Hey all,

I am trying to reschedule my Visa Appointment for H1B Dropbox and I see a warning that I have exceeded the limit of appointments canceled and will not be able to rescheduled until an MVR fees is paid.
I have rescheduled twice in the past.

So does that mean I cannot reschedule because I am able to go upto the reschedule page.

Anyone else on the bench? How are you utilizing your time?

Can someone refer me for the job mentioned in the below screenshot. It would be great if anyone could help me out.

Does anyone have any insight into the below inside internal IT of Deloitte (US):
1. Org structure and levels
2. How are they different from consulting? For example, how does the scope of a manager/SM differ?
3. What does a manager/SM level entail in internal IT? (Meaning in life).
4. Are there PPDs? Is it different/similar at that level?
5. Career progression/timeline compared to consulting.

I'm a senior software engineer with 10 years of experience. I've been with my current company for 5 years. I started at 100k and now I'm only at 116k, which means they haven't even kept me up with inflation.

I'm happy and don't *want* to leave to have to get my worth. I want to ask for 150k (I've been seeing recruiters emails for 160-200), but I feel like that's going to sound outrageous to them.

I'm afraid I made a mistake in my career path, and I know it's a bad time to look for new jobs, but it also seems like a good time to make some life changes. Do you have any thoughts?

I'm planning on leaving my current company soon. I'm a little concerned that if I put in my two weeks they will fire me. What notice would you give? I'm not currently responsible for any big projects that would leave them hanging.

Hey there,

I got an offer but there was a discrepancy in graduation month, I noted May but it was actually December. Was asked to provide explanation so now I am waiting to hear back.

How serious is this type of discrepancy?

They also are unsuccessful in reaching my previous employer. Company was bought by one of the giants after I was gone so not sure how successful they will be in getting a hold of my record. That seems to be the last item in my background check.

Fellow 🐟 designers/developers - what's your take on direct involvement with / leading customer comms in projects?

- Do you like having that opportunity to engage with the customer?
- Does it complicate/skew your responsibilities?
- Does it help give context to what you're working on?
- Do you see the value in it, which in return motivates you?

Facebook wants me to interview for a much lower title than what I currently have at Google. "Without 5 years of experience, your chances are slim for this position" is what they said when I applied. Do they really think that is supposed to entice anyone?

Offered a promotion where I countered for a higher rate and remote work. The firm reported that my counter offer was going to take weeks to discuss, but I wasn’t “asking for an arm”. Two weeks later they approved the initial offer without consent and against my written request to hold off until negotiations concluded. Now, I’m told that my actions have fractured the relationship

I am being criticized for my self respect to ask for my worth

The job search has been long but I am motivated
