Question for you all: Left D to Company A for a 50% raise in TC and slated to start in <1 week. However, just got an offer at Company B for a 100% raise in TC compared to D, or 30% raise in TC compared to company A. Both firms do similar work but B provides a more solid comp package. Job duties would be relatively similar. Is the % jump worth burning the bridge? Would have chosen Company B if the offer came sooner but the % difference in A to B is at my [personal] 30% threshold. TIA!

Wait for Company C

Thank you for having the comment that made me grin on an exhausted day

Assuming numbers are: Current 90k A 180k ish B 135k ish How much of the TC is guaranteed vs bonus? If the delta is mostly RSU and salary, burn the bridge and go for B. You haven’t started yet, so it’s not as bad. Also, who cares, do what’s best for you.

I think your A and B are reversed

Is this a real question?! 100% raise is still questionable?🙄

If I had initially had both offers, wouldn’t be a question as my post stated. Contemplation begins where I already accepted Company A’s offer and thus if the difference between Company A TC and B TC outweighs burning the bridge with Company A.

I personally would, straight up

How badly do you want to work for company A in the future? If you don’t actually care, take company b’s offer. If you really, really, really want to work for company A in the near-ish future then stick with them and don’t get yourself blacklisted (at least in the short-term, in the long term people forget).

helpful

Go for B.. tell them clearly that this is a money situation considering same profiles, jobs and duties. Consider the long term potential of A vs B while deciding… did that in a similar situation 2 months ago and the recruiter understood. Best part is if A matches B’s salary.. you are in win win situation

helpful

Nobody cares. Just be professional in communication with Company A and join Company B. Although they will not like to take you back immediately, but time heals all!

helpful

Additional info: For Company A I’ll come in as top of band so going to the next band is a ~10% raise at YE. A’s TC is Base + Bonus. B’s TC is Base + Bonus + RSU.

Accenture vs Amazon, if you can commit to Amazon 4 yrs to obtain the RSU do it

Let’s discuss gender pay gaps by assessing our own discrepancies. I’ll start.
