MasterCPE has a good amount you can pay for. If you just want free CPE, many firms offer webcasts with CPE. Im in industry now, and when things slowed down I watched a lot of webcasts by googling each firms webcasts and tracking my own CPE. I already have my 40 for the year, including 2 ethics
That is a good question ASA2 and something I should have elaborated on a little more. My state requires 2 ethics CPE yearly (which is why I specified), and this is not a typical webcast by firms, so it requires a little more searching. The link provided above by SFA1 should help for ethics, but will be something you'll want to keep an eye for in the future. I recieved the ethics through AuditNet, but they have free & paid options so it's more of a pain to search through (someone actually shot me an email which is how I found it).
I work in industry and have every year that I have had to complete CPE. I have only paid for 1 hour of CPE (because it was specifically required by my state). Between Deloitte, E&Y, PWC (only one that has on-depand CPE), Grant Thornton, etc I have made all 40 hours. Also, if your state requires Ethics, check out https://antifraudcollaboration.org/resources/free-cpe/ Good luck!
Thank you so much! This is incredibly helpful
PwC has free webcasts. The AICPA also offers a webcast pass program
Can confirm that EY offers them (and can be accessed by anyone). The only thing you may end up needing to get creative on is the ethics component.
AICPA online tracks CPE too (you enter in courses). I was right there with ya bud. Happy 1 month of freedom!
That just made me LOL. We accountants freaking love creating customized excel trackers deep down though
CPAacademy.com - Super simple CPE. They have tons of webcasts all day everyday, interesting, and no quizzes. Just questions throughout. You get the CPE certificate same day.
Deloitte has free webinars almost daily. At least they did last year. Also. Check with your state, I know mine changes the minimum requirements
Deloitte offers Dbriefs
CPA Academy
I know there's cheap CPE sites you can do virtually. It's how the rest of the country does it. We were spoiled with Crowe University. I wouldn't worry at all. Did Crowe send you your transcript to see where you're currently at?
Send a transcript request to CPE.compliance@crowe.com. They will provide what you need.
PwC has several free CPE courses on the cfodirect.com website.
There’s lots of free CPE out there. Try CPAacademy.org
Crowe did layoffs? what LOS are you?
Damn I’m gonna start replying to my linkdin recruiters and be nice to them.
Second vote for Deloitte webcasts, they are usually one hour long and easy to listen to.
There is a shit ton of free cpe out there. As a matter Of fact do it now so when u get a new gig u can focus on the job and already be done with it for the year.
Checkout cfo publishing. They have webinars with cpe almost everyday. Some of it is good information as well.
Sign up for webcasts from all big 4. They have a ton. If you are unemployed, this should not be a stressor for you.
CCH and Thomson Reuters both have unlimited annual packages for their webinars and self study courses. They also have ethics classes and will track the credits for you.
Some state societies are offering a certain amount of free CPE with your annual dues. Don't forget to look to see if you state society offers reduced dues if you're currently unemployed.
Lots of firms advertise free webcasts that qualify for CPE on LinkedIn.
The first thing is start looking for a job. There are firms hiring. 2nd check with that state society about extension of time if the renewal date is coming up soon. 3rd there is inexpensive all you can take online CPE.
Just FYI it's usually not the state society that sets the CPE requirements but your state board of accountancy (or whoever handles CPA licensing)
Get all of your actual cpe certificatesm if audited for ce you may need them
