Did they do it maliciously on purpose or was it an accident?
Purposefully!
Why will you fire them? The business is between them, and the company is not involved. I think you need to check the policies of your company. If you fire them for that reason alone where they are not even violating any company rules or policy, that would be an illegal dismissal. One should be dismissed for an authorized and just cause. If an employee damages the car of another employee then let the former pay the latter for the expenses incurred. Is it intentional by the way? Or is it an accident?
We need more information. Was the person who crashed into someone else’s car under the influence of any sort of narcotics or alcohol while working?
Ooo I think we need way more information - what happened?!
You can technically fire folks for any reason or no reason. Many states are “at-will” and it means just that.
Was it intentional? If yes and your company doesn't tolerate such behavior, then you can fire them. This one needs to be investigated further to avoid illegal dismissal. Just check your company policies to be sure.
Very curious as to what happened! Any updates??
