I transitioned from a 20 yr. career in various agency roles to a client-side role at a software company. It was part direct outreach to the company, and part introduction via a connection. The one learning was to find the client side role that was most relevant to my agency experiences (ecomm, saas clients). This allowed for a much more relevant conversation (as I was able to articulate/share a proposed marketing plan for their SaaS business & speak to results) and reduced the stigma surrounding agency professionals as lesser qualified than client side candidates. I had little success with recruiters. It seemed like I was just helping to meet their quota of 'getting candidate interviews booked'. DM if you want to discuss more.

My crossing to the dark side happened through a client relationship. We worked well together and his DoM was leaving so…off I went. Since then I’ve switched roles via LinkedIn, networking and head hunters. I’ve never had luck with direct applications.

Hey Sales 🐠, kindly requesting your advice. I have 4 YOE in customer success and 2 YOE as a presales solutions consultant, all in the health tech space. I don’t have any full cycle sales experience or a history of a meeting quotas, but I am comfortable in C-suite interactions. Any suggestions on what type of sales roles to consider next? Thanks!
