Convincing people to take your opinions seriously even when they don’t want to is pretty much our job. Structure your argument, take a confident stance, maybe try to educate the client. If you’re exposed, you could definitely have covid. The chances are lower if you’re vaccinated but not 0. The only way to confirm to a high degree of certainty is to isolate for 3 days then get tested on day 4.

Agree with earlier comments and want to add that people need to stop saying "I shouldn't [for some logical reason] but I can [for some illogical reason]." There's no "I can if you want me to". They already told you what they wanted. It's on you to say "Usually I would, however due to confirmed covid exposure, this will need to be virtual until I've quarantined the recommended 3 day wait for testing and have a confirmed negative PCR test. In the meantime, what time would you like to schedule the call/ video chat?" Stop giving people the option to peer pressure you into unwise decisions.

Might get suspected for staying this, but I would still go. A) If you’re vaccinated, you still probably won’t get Covid at all, but… B) More to the point, we have to stop worrying about exposure and transmission at some point soon. This virus will *never* go away. The only way the pandemic ends - which is a barely useful concept - is through immunological memory defanging the virus, through a combination of natural infection and vaccines. The case for delaying exposure is way weaker than it used to be. I’d honestly only care about delaying exposure if it’s to a unvaccinated person who is persuadable, or a vaccinated vulnerable person who will get a third dose soon.

We are all going to be exposed to Covid at some point. The sooner we accept that, the better. There is no other option. If you’re holding out to let the flood gates open completely until kids are vaccinated, I can sort of understand, although given the actual impacts of Covid to U12s I do consider it irrational.

Not normal at all…they should take the extra precaution even though you’re probably alright

Absolutely not. We’re still in a pandemic that is killing people. If not you or your client then someone else could be a causality of this

What is your office policy on this? Find out and if they say don’t travel, you can at least use that as the reason for not going.

What is the client’s site police about people who have been exposed to, experience symptoms compatible to or are positive to COVID-19? I might be off base here but, seems unlikely that client’s organization is ok with people who have been exposed to confirmed positive cases coming into the office. If that’s the case, then what the client says (even if the client is the CEO itself!) is overruled by the client’s organization policy on the matter.

No, you should quarantine for 10 days. Or at least the recommended 3-5 days until you can test yourself…. that is not normal.

I wouldn’t go. It’s not just about me, but anybody I potentially may impact. The client would just have to get over it.

like

Not normal but you also offered and disclosed your vaccination status, allowing them to make a choice. Going forward, only offer things you want to or are comfortable doing. In this case, i would respond ‘let me confirm the firms policy allows for an on-site given the exposure.’

You should be in isolation and get tested right away. Don’t go until you have a negative PCR test
