Question regarding legacy MBA applications: A parent attended Michigan for undergrad and Penn for grad school. Do they both count as legacy status? Will it even help for admissions to Ross/Wharton?

Yes they both count as legacy status. It holds more weight if they attended the same school within the university. Did the parent go to Wharton?

I believe it just asked for symbol of program (e.g. WG for Wharton grad, G for other graduate school, etc.) and year. So “bob smith G’16”

If they didn’t attend Ross/Wharton specifically, it carries much less weight, unless they’re big donors to the university.

Hello! I have a two part question: 1) is it worth it to obtain an SHRM specialty credential if I don’t have the broader SHRM certification? 2) has anyone gotten the People Analytics or Talent Acquistion credential? If so, how valuable was it from a learning perspective? Do you feel it significantly contributed to your knowledge in either area? Thank you!

Friend runs a company and hired a VP of Sales to help grow the business. Guy got some relocation $ and was supposed to start 2 months ago. Ever since he said his kid had an accident and from that point on kept pushing the start date back claiming he has to do something related to the accident. He hasn’t sent any proof to HR, has been requested twice claims he will but then doesn’t. And has pushed his start date back half a dozen times. How should I advice him to proceed?

Looking for advice. I’ve secured a new job while on paternity leave from my current employer. I’ve lined up the transition between employers so I can give my two week notice once I’ve officially returned to work at my current employer. Should I consider giving them my notice before the end of my pat leave or wait until I finish it? I don’t want to burn any bridges with my current employer, nor do I want to disrupt the remainder of my leave.

Does anyone else feel like their burn-out cycle is shorter? It used to take me about 2 years of grind before I hit a burn-out phase where I needed to do some serious recuperating. It feels like I'm at 3 months now, or even less. I've already spoken to my wife about building quarterly mini-vacations into my schedule just to keep my energy up. And by burn-out, I mean you're at the point that every single ball you are juggling can drop and you get fired and almost see that as a blessing.
