Thinking of spending a week in Cyprus for vacation and don’t know much about the country. Does anyone have any advice/ experience visiting?
Not counting the unlimited PTO folks, how many vacation days do you have? Trying to figure out what’s a fair ask when more money’s not an option.
On vacation... still checking fishbowl....
To all the 🐠 who serve/d our country and their families - thank you for this holiday weekend. 🇺🇸
Took PTO to make it a four day weekend...first few hours back today and I already feel stressed out, anxious and like I want to quit. Burn out or just advertising?
My clients asked me if I can work during my vacation in Mexico. They approved my vacation arrange three months ago. And they are asking me one day before I left? Seriously?!
Help! We think our 2.5 yo is dealing with asthma and doctors won’t seem to do much. He’s always sick/terrible cough and poor guy can’t get sleep and is out of school a lot. anyone experience this?
Does taking medical leave for 3 months adversely affect future exit opportunities? When I apply to other jobs, does HR check how much leave you took and see that as a red flag?
Can you be fired if on medical marijuana if used for medical reasons with prescription if company policy does not specify whether it's not allowed in recreational use only or simply just not allowed?
Anyone ever put off using PTO days and instead “worked from home” during a planned vacation before they resigned in order to cash out the PTO later? I really don’t want to carry my work laptop when I leave on vacation, but the idea of cashing out the PTO when I end up leaving the job (not yet planned or official) is real nice.
I am on track to FI/RE in 9 years at age 42. But I am burnt out. Considering stepping away for 6 months to a year to do something cool, but don't want to fuck up fi/re. Help me see the forest through the trees? I've been a delayed gratification kind of person my whole life. Sick of waiting.
Consultants in their respective federal practices - are you on extended holiday? Or are there still projects that are actively being worked on
Hey 🐠, looking for some advice - what’s the best way to approach a conversation with a more junior team member about being out of office frequently? Since they were hired back in May they’ve taken off 1-2 days per week for various reasons (plus 1.5 weeks for vacation)… I understand that things come up, people get sick, etc. but it’s impacting delivery / I never know when they will ping in the morning and say that they won’t be in so I have to have someone else, or me, pick up the slack…
EY folks please help me. I am confused. For maternity leave in the state of CA: We have disability leave, EY parental leave, and optional CA paid family leave. Which one comes first? Say I want to....
I have a 2 week vacation ahead in June but want to give notice to go to a competitor. Will they let me take my days or will they just dismiss me?
Is mental health (anxiety, nervous breakdown) a qualified medical reason for taking short term disability? And if yes, Who would need to sign off on that? I feel like I can't breathe or focus (ctd)
Tfw youre going on vacation but still have a crap load of work unfinished and a lot more new work waiting for you when you come back... And of course I’ll be thinking about that while on “vacation”..

Can a parent in Canada on a visitor visa apply for US visitor visa extension while they are in Canada?
In California, employees are entitled to paid sick leave. Does anyone know why interns/temp/part time workers in get paid sick time but full time employees have to use PTO? Is this a Public Accounting or just an RSM thing?
So if my kid starts kindergarten next fall, what should I put on his LinkedIn profile? Accomplishments, work / volunteer experience, hobbies, interests - what would look the most impressive and signal a solid kindergarten candidate?
I have a friend who unfortunately was just laid off as a bank teller. He has four years of experience, but has never done consulting. Is this something that he could try his hand at? Or do you think that he should have more experience or certifications under his belt first? Trying to see if he can start as a consultant.

Meeting with a recruiter at one of the FAANG companies. I won’t be able to move jobs because of H1b /GC at least for the next year. Any idea if I should start off with that or should I just try to understand the work that they have been doing?
For a flight NAM - Bangkok, what airline is best (Emirates, Qatar, Ethiad) for status match with US airlines (Delta, United, AA)?

A friend is pushing really hard to recruit me coming in as a Manager at Deloitte but I have some concerns: 1. 5.5 weeks of PTO 2. Bonus payouts close to 40K 3. Base salary for managers starting out at $155 4. Good work life balance (I call BS on this one) 5. Great culture. No up and out culture? 6. Rank managers based on a scattered plot 7. $25 signing bonus Deloitte laid off a bunch of people last year and now are saying they had their best year ever? Any insight will be appreciated.
I applied for a passport at the end of Sept and paid with a check. My company was supposed to reimburse me but I don’t have a receipt for it bc I never got one (probably bc I used a check). I tried to submit with a picture of the transaction in my account which was rejected. Is there a way to get this receipt from USPS even if it’s already been a few weeks?
Friday thoughts on Strengths vs weaknesses: I have been told that I am solid in quant, but need development on the creative side of things - brainstorming, strategic frameworks, maybe even writing. If this situation can be improved, what should I do? books or videos or exercises? This doesn't seem easy to tackle at all... If this just reflects how I am like, does it mean I'm not fit for consulting in the longer haul (looking at SC, PM max)? Or perhaps I should focus on DD type of consulting?
How often do you procrastinate on the job and how often do you get in trouble for it? Feel like I’ve gotten worse with WFH…
