Question: so towards the end of the interview, I asked the interviewers "so I notice you have both been here for over 14 years, why have you guys stayed here for so long?"

Is that rude? My main reason was I wanted to see what it would be like being at this company. I don't want to job hop from one company to another company. But that could have sounded negative.

I’m sure the interviewers know your reason for asking, if they have experience in the interviewing process. Another way you could’ve asked is “What do you enjoy most about working here and what has kept you here?” I hope you hear some good news soon! Don’t forget to send the thank you email to the two that interviewed you and Cc the recruiter. Thank them for their time and reiterate your interest in the job and highlight your ability once more to fulfill the duties of the job. Best of luck! :)

Any tips on how to ace this presentation?

From the position of those that have already made the in-house switch, would love some gut reactions/checks to my situation.

Class of 2020, started at a V80 in a regulatory practice last January. Recently lateraled to a V30 this past summer (have only been at new firm 3-4 months). Already know I don’t want to do the big law thing long term, and would really love to move in-house.

My question: how soon is too soon, and will making another switch in-house within the next year look bad?

I had a great initial interview with a peer of the hiring manager and received very positive feedback from the interviewer. Checked-in with recruiter the next day.

Recruiter: can we meet next week for just 15 mins?
Me: sure

I then had a look at the job posting and it was “no longer available”. But my application still shows as “under consideration”.

Tell me why this is nothing to worry about.

Hi all! I wanted to share a tip I’ve learned that really helped me nail these interviews I just did. At the end of each interview, I always followed up with “Was there anything on my resume that I could provide some clarification for you?” This allowed my interviewer to bring up any further concerns/questions and let me really highlight my strengths, and gave me a chance to alleviate those concerns for them. I really do think this was a key factor as to why I got the job I did!
