Question: what type of professional should I find for just financial advise/guidance? Such as...types of investments for low yield/liquid to hold funds for a house DP or general finance health. (Cont)

I’m not financial savvy...at all...in terms of “making my money work for me” but don’t have the assets for a financial planner (all I’ve reached out to have like 250k min or higher). So just looking for someone who can give basic advise and provide some recommendations. And yes, I could research this myself on google but honestly my brain just turns off when start reading financial mumbo jumbo

A fee only fiduciary financial advisor. They can be found online, I recommend interviewing 3-5 before you choose one. A fiduciary advisor is required to act in YOUR best interest and if they are fee only make zero commissions off of you which further isolates them from outside bias. I did this when my wife and I got married as we had very different money management habits. It was the best $1k I ever spent. He went through each of you 401k/IRA accounts and optimized them to our risk tolerances, set target savings goals, reviewed life insurance and health insurance needs, etc. Best part? He acted as a neutral third party as two adults tried to merge very different money management styles. Couldn’t recommend more strongly. As a reference, the $1k bought us a risk tolerance discussion, 3 1hr meetings, and everything he recommended in writing for us to be able to reference later.

One of my best friends was just diagnosed with bipolar 2. She works at an agency in Tokyo, but in Japan it's hard to get mental health treatment because it isn't really recognized like in the U.S. Anyone have advice either on how you cope with bipolar 2, and/or sought help in a place where mental illness is entirely taboo?

The lack of appropriate PPE affected my health in other ways. I have a latex sensitivity and we ran out of Nitrile gloves. For awhile I had to take an antihistamine to keep from having full on hives.

I am a third year associate in insurance coverage and am struggling to see how I will be able to develop a book of business when the clients are only looking to work with partners and have established rules about how to get on their panels. Any suggestions on how to set myself up to make inroads? I recognize this is still likely to be a couple years down the line.

Life insurance: do I need it? Not married (live with LT boyfriend - renting), own 2 investment properties, no kids, early 30s, in Canada. No “dependents”, and my family could pay for final expenses. I’m healthy and insurance is cheap. Should I just get it? Any extra $ if I pass suddenly could go to younger sibling/ family / charity, or to pay off mortgages. What am I missing?

Not sure if it's just for recent immigrants or American born Asians, but what I've noticed is East and South East Asians don't fit well in the bro culture common among management as you move up the ladder. That certainly is a factor in how you get along with leadership and sell work through networking
