Question/Advice. I’m currently working as a Pre-Access/Biller for a worker’s comp role with a 3rd party company handling 2 major hospital accounts. I feel severely underpaid as I work claims, pre-auths, follow-up, AR, RTW/atty req/med req/c9 req/approvals, etc. for the WC revenue cycle. Interested in hearing others salaries for the role? Or roundabout? OR WC salaries in general. Also, what’s the next upward career move after working a role as this? Thank you! (I work remotely if this helps)

I wasn't aware the billing/pre-auth jobs paid especially well. What kind of salary were you hoping for?

Maybe I’m possibly labeling my position incorrectly. I’m a Workers Compensation Specialist working claims, coding, auths, billing, A/R all in one position. I also work with hospital personnel, dr/nurses, patients, Attorneys, TPA’s, and MCO’s all day. It’s a lot if you’re familiar with all the steps required for a WC claim. It requires high levels skills and you can easily burnout as the workload is constant and heavy. The issue is I love what I do I just know I’m not being paid appropriately for it. Hope that clears my post up.

It depends on your state. In Tennessee I would probably offer you $50-60k

I’m definitely lower than that at 32K. I’m in Ohio. I appreciate your response.

I would love to hear more information

Anyone regret going into data and analytics? Sometimes I feel like I'm too dumb for it. I don't have a statistics background to really take things to the next level, and my colleagues don't have the hours to help me. My technical skills are OK, but nothing to shout at, especially when I don't really have the interest to learn. Maybe I should just bite the bullet and steer my career to a boring client-side position instead.

For those who were diagnosed as an adult can you provide some insight into how you were able to obtain a diagnosis. Looking at exits into pharma and biotech. Have an opp at a biotech at the SM level. Total comp excluding equity is around $190k; RSUs vest over 4 years with annual refreshers, so first year equity would be around $6,200 and it would go up by $6,200 each of the next 3 years, plus whatever base bump I get. Very good benefits package.

They envision 2-3 years before I jump either to AD or right to D. Solid opp? Or hold out to go straight to director level?

I've been working here for about two years now, and I have to say, I love my job. The company culture is great and the people are wonderful to work with. But recently, I've noticed that my manager has been asking me to do more and more work on my own without giving me any additional compensation for my time. He just keeps telling me that if I want to get ahead, then this is what I need to do.

I'm not sure what to do here—do you have any advice?
