Quick question on Personal Capital — I just downloaded and set up the app. It looks like only 3 months of my Chase credit card transaction history will import to the expenses. Is this right? I can’t see a way to get any more data than that, which is fine, but just wanted to make sure this is normal. Thanks!

I only contribute 3% to my 401k & everyone thinks im nuts. Here is my rationale: when I retire, I am expecting to be in a higher tax bracket than I am currently. Hoping to build a RE portfolio with passive income. Currently I am saving/investing 60% of my net income so its not like I am saving less by only contributing 3%. The measly match (subject to vesting) is not really worth it imo. I would rather pay tax now and have the liquidity of having that money in a brokerage account. Thoughts?

I have a sort of stupid question. Internet trolls, please refrain from stampeding me if you can. My question— at what point do you spend your money? I am such a saver. I save and save and save. Even if I do a big trip or buy something big for the house, I still do it from my income/not my savings. When are you guys spending out of savings? I feel like I’ve brainwashed myself a bit and I’m going to be 90 years old still squirreling money away and not using it.

Off topic!

I recently bought a house (In my hometown), I am not staying there. It is currently on rent. I am getting Rent as 50% of the total Home loan EMI of that house. And it is equivalent to the rent that I am paying at my current location in another city.

Question is: Should I do yearly loan prepayments from my annual bonus to reduce the EMI amount or should I keep the loan going as it is and invest yearly bonus in share market or gold.

I feel like there’s a perfect storm brewing and with the help of Covid and chip shortages and senseless forced adoption of EVs, in a few years common ppl won’t be able to afford a car and even those in upper income classes will be hard pressed. And when people can’t travel freely on their own, that will have downstream FX on society

Genuinely curious. Do y’all think we’re in a bubble? Depending on the day I feel swayed by either argument. Meme stocks aside, equities seem incredibly overvalued, especially in tech and green energy/EVs and people are acting like nothing will change. However, with rates this low there is no where else to place money and there’s plenty of liquidity to go around. Are we in for inflation and a correction or the roaring 20s?
