I accepted an offer from another big4 in early Sep with a start date in mid-Oct, and I plan to give notice 10/1 for health insurance reasons.

I’m in this process at the moment, they technically wouldn’t know when you signed the offer, just don’t mention it. Second it hits your bank account tell them you signed your offer and that’s your last day

They know I’m unhappy and wanna change LoS but I would never tell anyone I’m leaving for fear of losing bonus.

Thinking about getting into valuations. Anyone have any insights about this path in Big4 and in industry? Specifically I’m wondering: 1) what’s the scope of work like at Big 4? (Is the service line split into industry sector groups, or do some groups do Valuation for tangibles and another does intangibles) 2) how are the hours like? Working 9am - 3am consistently? 3) what exit opportunities exit after the Big 4 experience? 4) how does Compensationfor HCOL seniors/ manager look this year?

Moving from a boutique (<30 employees, MBB competitor) to the strategy practice of a Big 4. Have only worked for boutiques in the past, so I’m expecting there to be some major differences in terms of working style. What are the major differences and ‘watch outs’ you would point out to me? Could be anything from culture, to red tape, to compliance etc.

Just told my fairly new bf how much I make and he makes 3 times of how much I’m making right now. I had a big career setback because of covid and my salary hasn’t increased for a while. He cares about money and being rich so much I feel like he might dump me at some point. I won’t be upset if he does because that’s on him, but I feel so insecure about how ridiculously poorly I’m doing in life:(. Just wanted to let it out

Any strong thoughts/opinion about nontenured teachers opting out of joining the union their first 2-3 years? Good idea? Bad idea? My student teacher asked me and I figured I’d get the opinions of those who have experience on either side. Thanks!
