@OP this makes me sad! As a manager, I know that happy people who trust you will work harder for you... and it makes the late nights that more bearable! My husband and I actually let one of my team members move into our lake house while got back on his feet after suddenly becoming homeless.

It is odd they ask us to put it in our email signature. Once someone says they are not ok, then what? Call EY Assist? Useless. They don't have a plan for loa or other support or anonymous support other than to probably say ok let's make sure we counsel this person out. I realized I'm a high functioning depressed person - dreading going to work every day, not having motivation yet still doing sig exceeds work

I had a former manager say to me, don't let this job push you over the edge, there's more to life than this...it was simple but it struck the right cord with me and made me look at the work differently.

OP: I'm a fellow colleague and this thread concerns me. You should absolutely never feel like you don't have a support system at work to help you through this. First, I would be surprised if anyone's first reaction is to counsel you out of the firm. Second, you'll be amazed by what people around you are capable of: it may not be apparent in the daily churn but I promise there is compassion and a sense of care for each other. Can we help you take the first step? It couldn't hurt to call EY Assist. Or seek help through other outlets (e.g. You have an insurance plan that covers you). I'm also happy to create an email so you can reach out to me and see you in person for coffee at work. Whatever it takes to help you! No one should feel like you do.

May be picky, but "are you ok" is too personal for me.. implies I see something wrong with 'you'.. I ask that to a best friend, an SO.. Anyone else would be "is everything alright?" Or "how's everything going"

OP: that's a great strategy too. Build a healthy life outside work - have weekly hobbies that you look forward to. And if you're single: get yourself out their and date. A lot of my friends who are in relationships said they do a better job from disconnecting from work and living a life.

Thanks for the responses, think I'm just burned out. Chatting with EY Assist wouldn't do anything and honestly most of my leadership I don't really respect anymore and those I do I wouldn't want to burden or affect my PPED pipeline. Ppl at work def wouldn't know, my teams look up to me and I'm seen as the EYer that always makes things work. I think I need to make changes unrelated to EY - probably too many years of the rat race and pleasing bosses vs. actually feeling fulfilled. Thanks though!

Just needing a safe place to vent. We were extra vigilant about the holidays with our two kids under the age of 5 requiring everyone to test and be vaccinated and keeping our gathering extremely small. Nope…not enough. We are now quarantined because my kids can’t be vaccinated and are too young to wear masks. Not sure if this is the right place to post, but I feel like I wasted 20 years of work life- as if I’m back to sq 1. Married with baby, super under pressure (by myself and the bills) to provide for my family. Looking for more payment security - not knowing when the next paycheck comes in kills me. Hello, I'm new to glass door but thought this was pretty neat and 1 am looking for advice so why not. work for an animal shelter and love love love the job, however I was diagnosed with complex PTSD, chronic anxiety, and depression, a couple months after getting the job and my mental state has deteriorated more and more since, I also have IBS due to anxiety and here more recently I ended up in the er and was given medication that made me throw up so much I now have an abdominal hernia.

I've realized that I keep working 60+ mostly because I suck at things regarding the personal life. My love life sucks, I don't have that many close friends, and don't have a good hobby (mostly in my free time I just pass time).

Have anyone already felt like this? If so, were you able to change? How?

I’m on a 6-month extendable contract and my manager really likes me; she always says that they want to convert me ASAP, however they don’t have the budget right now to hire me. They plan to hire me by the end of the year (7-month mark) but that means I won’t get paid for 3 days during thanksgiving and a whole week during December. How can I push for them to make me permanent as soon as possible? This is my first job out of college so I’m not sure how to approach this situation.
