Oh I've cried in front of like 5 partners at once 😅
And 3 partners at once
And single partners
You're not alone

Never. Get a grip, this is a job. I refuse to allow some jackass, with the same imposter syndrome I have, to break me down in such a way.
Honestly, being a partner does not mean they are any better than we are. A lot of them are just sitting in the chair long enough or just get lucky, especially when someone is not in your practice area and new to the firm and yet wants to post the partner card on you. I have seen partners replaced or kicked out the door over my time. It also does not matter how much they paid to get over there because being respectful is something they should know since kindergarten.

This is one of the reasons I love WFH. Partners can’t see me flipping them off throughout the day. Harder to do that when you’re fewer than 6 feet from them...
Yes or when I’m rolling my eyes
Oh yes! Never in front of them, but oh yes!
Ouch yes. Happened earlier this year. He’s a partner and my department head. After an awful call during which he told me I wasn’t doing work at the standard expected by the firm, I kept it together long enough to apologize and then I hung up and wept. Took a couple of weeks to move on. He still gives me a hard time and I don’t think he will ever think higher of me. But I’ve worked hard to improve on his criticism and I feel a lot better. At least it felt better than when I used to be a paralegal and I would be regularly screamed at.

I've cried in front of 1 who was being a total ass to me and I regret it. I wish I had gotten mad instead. But it's ok! It happens! Hang in there!

I have, but I have learned not to let it get to me. The partner is under a lot more stress than I am.
It is his or her problem.
Never shed tears but have def been so stressed after getting negative feedback. Also get super anxious when i submit a draft to certain partners. Working to give less of a f and realize I’m still relatively new and will make mistakes until eternity... as long as the checks clear right?

I don’t care what partners say, anytime, HAHAHA.
I do not cry in front of people at work. If I feel a need, I keep it together until I’m in a private space and clean myself up before I’m back out in public. Personally, I think it is extremely unprofessional to cry in front of a boss and as a woman, I think it makes you look like a hot mess.
This hurts because it’s true
