Local senators. Make noise

How do I do that? Just each out to them over email? Also, should I have EY do something? Or just trying to do something myself?

At my firm, we take the position that USCIS will go off the processing times for the EAD and ignore the service request for the AP simply because they are issued as a combo card. Therefore, you’re stuck waiting for the EAD to be approved or you filing the service request for that. The processing times are available for the uncommon instances where someone requests AP separate from the EAD. In which case, the applicant will get separate a separate AP document. You could request assistance from your congressional representative or senator for the state in which you reside, but I don’t think that will make a difference right now. As for how to do that, do a search for “find my congressman” (should be first link), and enter your ZIP code. You can do same for the senator. Instructions for how to request assistance may be found on their website. You should consider expedited processing of the AP document. Ask your immigration team what needs to be done. I actually tried doing that this week for a client but USCIS denied without letting us file evidence in support of the request. As a result, we are now seeking assistance from congressperson for my client. It is also possible to make a request for an emergency travel document from your field office but that is a little tricky to do. Note that completion of biometrics is required before USCIS will issue EAD and AP. They also will not look at an expedite request until biometrics is complete.

Yes, speak with them and see what you can do/what your best option is. See also if you can get a new visa once tour extension is approved (hopefully you’re not from a travel ban country). If you’re able to show that EY will lose money by you being unable to travel, then the expedite may be approved.

I'll be joining the consulting world very soon and am thinking about getting a new personal credit card. My meal expenses are per diem so I'm thinking about the AmEx Gold card as it has 4x points on dining. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on personal cards for consultants and how to go about my corporate card as well! TIA

Flying from Palm Springs to Chicago on AA in Nov. Booked our trip in July and just got informed that the flight has been changed by 7 hours (from 3:30PM departure to 8:30AM). AA is offering either a refund or a flight change but we’re not interested in either since there’s no other direct flight on AA and other airline rates have since shot up. Are we entitled to any compensation? Points/Certificate? Tried arguing with the rep over the phone but he won’t budge.

I have 10 days (inclusive of travel days) to do something at the end of October. For once I am stumped on where to go. Any ideas? Prefer international, late 20s/early 30s couple, not partiers, quite open minded. Really our only constraint is neither of us drive much so not keen on a trip that is best done with a rental car/lots of driving.

someone save this attorneys job. I hired an attorney with 5 years experience. I send her assignments and usually the law we're using. She never reads the breifs or memos we've prepared. Just because it's hard you give up? WTF.
