Random question: would you go to Georgetown mba at 25 or Duke mba at 28?

Lower ranked school is never the answer. Unlike other secondary educations, business school is only good for the name, so going to the best brand one is always top priority as you won't get a chance to "upgrade" it later on by going to another better grad school

Depends on your objectives. If you know for sure you want to stay in consulting and you know for sure you want to do an MBA, might as well go at 25.

Georgetown MBA is just good for fed consulting

Obviously duke places much better into mbb but it’s totally in the realm of McDonough’s possibility to go mbb as well - atleast locally. Through my experience, gtown also places into commercial consulting (mbb, McLean Deloitte). What y’all think? The draw in this scenario is that you’re much younger. Higher risk on the former option but if successful, you’re in your target 3 years earlier

It appears that duke is the majority answer. However, if you know for sure Consulting, why does going earlier to a lower ranked school become the answer?

Assuming you'll come back at post-MBA level either way, I personally don't think a higher ranked school is worth spending 3 additional years at analyst level.

Why do you want to get an MBA?

Mbb, sir/mam. Love strategy consulting but my firm does a niche service of strategy.

Therefore the “random” question. Perhaps more work experience will Help for a better mba but is that necessary?

Just go to the school that gives you the best chance at MBB

Don’t let random ppl derail you. What’s said on this post is true but take it with a grain of salt bc you don’t want to under estimate yourself. If you really want mbb and want to get your mba now at gtown, then you just have to put in more work (networking etc.) to end up at mbb. It’s doable but a lot harder. So the question to ask yourself is really “how confident am I in my skills (technical, soft, and networking skills) for taking the bootstrapped route?”
