Rank these MBA schools in order of ease of admissions: Yale, Cornell, Stern, Duke, Kellogg, Tuck. Thanks!

You do realize all acceptance rates are at least partially related to self selection of applicants, right? It’s not like all mba applicants apply to all schools, it’s expensive to apply and people only apply to places that they at least have a shot of getting into. You can’t just look at acceptance rates and/or meaningless rankings by fishbowlers

Amen, brother or sister.

Tuck pretty easy these days. Cornell, stern, & duke easy too. Kellogg and yale slightly harder but still relatively easy I would say. None of these schools are super selective.

What?

I’m surprised booth isn’t on this list if you are looking at Kellogg

like

I went to Kellogg and didn’t consider booth at all, just bc they are in the same city doesn’t mean they have anything in common

Kellog and Tuck, then Yale, then duke, then stern and Cornell. From hardest to easiest.

I believe tuck’s rate is due to self selection of applicants, a bit like insead. Schools with super tight knit culture are usually this way. You can check this hypothesis by looking at their numbers (GPA, GMAT) and the recruiting outcomes. A 1/3 admission rate otherwise would suggest a much lower quality school. It’s tough to say that an average bschool applicant who submits to Tuck would have a 1/3 chance of admission.

like

You really cannot predict admissions. Pretty much everyone I know with an MBA has some crazy story about how they got into A, but not B, waitlisted at C, etc etc. Pick the schools you want to go to and apply, and don’t spend too much time obsessing over what Poets and Quants tells you is reality (bc it’s not).

like

The real question is why would you want to go to any of these schools other than Kellogg and fuqua? Just apply to those 2 (fuqua can be your safety school) and apply to some tier 1s other than just Kellogg

Yale and Tuck have some of the most successful outcomes for a wannabe consultant, just check out their recruitment reports. Stern gets a bad rap bc of its proximity to Columbia, but it’s a powerhouse in finance. Duke is ranked below the above. Before making claims make like these, make sure you’ve done some research into the topic :).

I am looking to gain certification or other credentialing in diversity and inclusion, not only because it would look good on my resume both for future job-search purposes and also to become better educated in this area, which is growing in importance. I looked at SHRM's "Inclusive Workplace Culture Specialty Credential" and got a bit of "sticker shock" at the cost - $1,655.00 for members. Does anyone have other suggestions on training/credentialing in this area?

Can somebody please explain to me why MBB and other top consulting firms are so adamant that you have an MBA?
