When Wieden + Kennedy says “the work comes first”, how much more seriously do they mean that than the average elite creative agency? Like, I’m at a top-10 agency, but being a human comes first for me. Yes, I have high standards for my work, but not at the expense of my health or happiness. Is everyone at WK genuinely obsessed with their work and do they all live unhealthy, unbalanced lives? Or could someone with a pragmatic view of WLB actually do well there?
Will likely end the year with 190k pqm and $25k spend on United... Is there even a tiny chance of making global services?
Considering a transition back into federal healthcare consulting for better WLB. Currently in commercial and the workload is so challenging with a toddler. Which firm has the best WLB, parental leave, etc? Considering KPMG, Deloitte, and Accenture.
So annoyed because upgrade to a bulkhead aisle seat in first class on my flight home but ALL I want is to sleep in my perfect exit row window seat I had so carefully selected... #consultingproblems
Hey fish, do any of you use an SAD lamp while traveling. I have a huge one at home and would love to have something portable to use at the hotel.
Which airlines allow first class to board before group 1? I fly United and they don’t so all the luggage bin in first is packed.
I’m an idiot and I’m going to lose my job after just starting it in Jan. Long story short, this morning in a client meeting I was asked my opinion on something and I said whilst it’s cool it’s really just another meeting/ session where people don’t really listen and should be done away with. I later got a meeting from my manager saying I need to be more mindful of what I sat to clients and going forward shouldn’t let it happen again. I’m so dumb.
Just booked my flight to Dubai and Muscat! Any must see/do activities you would recommend? Or are there any other places I should fly to while over there?
How do you all go about taking off work for long term travel? I want to take a trip in September 2021 (if covid is a thing of the past by then) to Southeast Asia for 2 weeks (ideally longer!), but I’m worried it’s too much time? I’ll have been with my company for 2 years by the time I go, is that too short of time with the company to be asking for that much time off? Would love to hear your guys’ experience :)
About to start working on a state project, how is work life balance/enjoyment of work on these types of projects?
Does kpmg offer health wellness subsidy like Deloitte? Thinking about joining but want to know about some of the benefits KPMG
How about one more United post: this one gives many more details about your rights as a passenger (spoiler alert: you have practically none) https://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2017/04/united-video-scandal-law/522552/
So I have decided to stop playing silly games and start acting like a real person instead of a consultant (Probably will leave soon, so don't care if I get fired). Turns out my client loves it, lol.
Munich for a week. Staying at Marriott Munich city center. Any recommendations for what to do while in town?
Hi everyone! I’ve been in my first job for a year and a half and I’m looking for a new consulting opportunity in healthcare in the DC area. Who’s hiring/willing to give some advice?
My manager just quit today for a busy season client that starts right after the new year. I’m a newly promoted senior and we don’t have the capacity to get a new manager on the job. Are there any steps you would recommend I take? I’m terrified
I’m an international who has lived in the US for the past 6 years but have only been traveling between the coastal cities (LA, SF, NYC, Boston). Just had my flight into Atlanta for the first time and just…WOW oh wow…this is straight out of those movies about America I grew up watching. Compared to Atlanta airport the ones in LA and NYC are a disgrace relative to their metropolitan status. I get that ppl knock on southern states for various issues but the airport is the face of a city…do it right
When designing a logo for a client how many options do you initially present them? Just one, and change based on feedback? Or a couple?
Curious how our jobs are changing. What initiatives do your firms launch to manage carbon emissions? Not talking about the ambition (eg -net zero, minus xx% by 2030, etc) but the actual changes in the organization. E.g. no flights < xx miles), only half the team at client office, rest at home, etc. And are these initiatives actually implemented or are there many exceptions?
starting in consulting vs now
Genius! Props to you Chase Zreet!
I told opposing counsel I opposed a motion which they filed indicating that I opposed the motion. After some thought I do not want to oppose the motion anymore. Should I just file a reply to the motion simply saying that we no longer oppose the motion or is something more required? TIA
Are there anybody work in the M&A Tax group? What is the work looks like there? Is that group focused more on tax researching? Consulting? Or also involved compliance, provision?
What are the true 9-5 (or less) roles out there?
Genuinely just want to be apart of an industry with less of a grind culture until my mental health approves. Need to be left alone after the typical work day and avoid being on call 😂
Is roomba s9+ worth it?
What's Charlotte, NC like? Moving from international so I'm looking at different options. I know it's not as good as NYC...
Any big Pharma companies hiring for tech project manager remote roles for system implementation?
Is FP&A to corporate strategy a realistic move? Wondering if it's possible without MBA.
For now I'll work my way up within finance, but just curious if this is an option down the line.
Anyone online now that’s on a Southern Hemisphere island? Would like to just fish for a few minutes to see what different fish I can get.
Been in Med/ pharma sales for 3 year now. Looking to transitions in to tech sales in an AE role-preferably in a mid market or enterprise roles.
Hi Consulting Moms! I’m due with my first in late April. My current project wraps up at the end of February. When you were getting to the end of your first trimester, did you try to find a challenging project, coasting project, or try to stay on the bench? I’m starting to plan and reach out to my network before the holidays.
She is one with the force and the force is with her.
To anyone laid off that has found a job, how long was your search? I have been recently laid off and feel very demotivated by the job market 😔
Where do you guys do your research on alt coins? This is so overwhelming. There seem to be no credible sources and I’m fairly new/risk-averse with crypto Any recommendations?
