Just got offered a job at a small biotech in London (UK). ~£45k plus bonus but only 1YR FTC and no equity.

Pretty sure it's a discovery role too.

I just finished my PhD at a very good uni with 3 years technician experience before that. BSc and MSc also at very good unis with good grades.

Are there analytics consulting firms still hiring that work on longer term projects (i.e. 3-6 months)? I'm working in deal analytics and while I actually like consulting, I'm tired of constantly working on diligence projects, having 0 WLB, or being able to think deeply about problems my client has. How do you handle a class who refuses to do homework? It is a lower level class (I.e. not honors) but they are capable, but so apathetic. On a good day 40-50% of kids will do it .. I’m at a loss.

Here’s my short background, my current ctc is 13.5 fixed (7 YOE, level 10) in Accenture and got an offer from cts for 23fixed.

Im a crucial resource in Accenture, can i hope Accenture matches the counter offer for my yoe? Also, can I consider my manager word if they say that they will revise in next 3 or 6 mnths?

folks who lift, how do you avoid calluses?

My rental property (Multifamily) was targeted in a shooting. No one was injured but the neighbors sent an anonymous letter to sue (unless I take action) for bringing their home value down / placing “annoying tenants”. Tenants were placed by my property manager. Am I liable? I have not been contacted by authorities about the incident but am working to get as much information as I can.

Any advice on how to proceed is appreciated. Don’t know who the target was, consider eviction moratorium (NY)

Interviewed for a role, recruiter reached out today to say all the interview feedback is very positive but they feel I could be a very good fit for another role. She said she does not have role open for the level the interviewer feel ( strong L6) open at this time and told me to reach out in mid Jan. she said she cannot guarantee anything but I can carry over my GCA and googleness interview - may have to do RRK.
