No one has mentioned KPMG? FB is getting soft.

BDO:

Pro - you get to act like a spoiled frat boy your entire career

Con - everyone hates you

funny

GT:

Pro - small offices have reasonable hours for public unless theres a real staffing or attrition issue. I worked in one for 5 years, busy season was either 50-60 hours for a few months (most of the time), 80 hours for a few weeks (once or twice), or 115 hours (once for one week).
Con - secondhand from what I was are told, large offices are no different than big 4 hours for less pay and prestige

like

I felt they were reasonable for 8 busy seasons out of 10. For public accounting. The 115 had 3 people leave during the summer on a team of 6 staff/seniors (tax..absolutely tiny office). We had help from other offices, but not enough to go around.

For what it's worth in retrospect all of those hours are unreasonable, but I'm not in public accounting anymore.

RSM:

Pro - they give you steaks like 3 times a year

Con - you will never be enough for them

Lol interesting

I’ve been impressed with everyone I’ve worked with or hired from RSM.

So I have been seeing a guy for 4 months. We have a pay disparity.. he earns less than I do (by quite a bit). He has mentioned a few times that he’s worried I’ll get bored of him when I know he can’t afford the same things I can. I think we are beginning to move past this, but now he’s starting to mention things like ‘I am really broke this month’, and last weekend he told me his mum has lost her job and he’ll have to probably pay her rent. I have a lot of sympathy for his situation … tbc

I need help figuring out if I’m being underpaid. I’m working in real estate private equity and I focus on fund models and property valuations. I’m currently at base $80k and 20% bonus. On top of that I have 5 years experience and a masters in finance. I’m good at my job and receive positive reviews from everyone. I feel like I should be compensated better but the company says that’s what they think I’m worth. Any help or insights would be great!

Something about me is both a curse and a blessing - I can't ignore what is not clear, logical, aligned, and simple. Even if that means that I have to work several minutes or hours extra on a document or an email. Things bother me if they aren't as expected. Unless I understand something clearly, I can't let it go. This is what helped me excel at studies. At work, my obsession makes it hard for people around me. If people complain about me, should I just let it go or change my approach?
