Hi All!
I am currently a Senior Software Engineer(Backend) with 4 YOE. My current CTC is 21LPA (All Fixed) with additional Yearly bonus. I got a call from Google (Pune/Bangalore/ Remote) for Software Engineer - Backend. I have the following doubts but any insights are welcome -
1. Does the lower designation offered make any difference?
2. Kinda ambiguous, but what kind of hike or ballpark pay can I expect?
3. Any similar interviews experiences or focus areas I should prepare for?
X-posting here!
I’m moving to Nashville Metro Area, TN and applying to solely Data Engineering Jobs (I have a total of 3 yrs exp & want to get back to it). Anyone have any good recs/websites/tips for estimating salary at this location? I’ve tried the popular websites like levels.fyi, glassdoor and indeed but I find that the ranges differ a lot.
I need likes 😅 TIA 🙏🏼

Wait is this real?
lol overpaid... *glances wistfully at the industry offers for $30k more that I turned down because I drank too much Kool-Aid*
Is this fake news?
This sounds like fake news. Haven't heard a damn thing about this.
I still won't believe it until I see it with my own eyes, but I'll play the thought experiment game. You've got the title issue as well as the salary issue (Consulting C = Advisory SC, but Consulting A also probably makes more than Advisory C) so there's a pretty big gap to bridge! You can't really demote everyone in Advisory to match Consulting levels, though, nor can you pay Advisory the same as Consulting folks at the same title. How did the firm handle it when we added Analysts to Consulting? That's probably most informative as to how they'll handle any potential merger. One thing is certain, though: any way they slice it, someone is going to be pissed off.
Will not happen. Stop spreading fake news people
@BA1 enough SMs and PPMDs have brought it up casually that I no longer consider it a rumor.
Both salaries down 50% to keep in line with the industry
@pwc3 Best comparison to Pdubs is DC ~ PwC Advisory and D Advisory ~ PwC Risk Assurance
I'm especially interested in hearing from people in other firms who've gone through similar mergers.
Salaries will be dictated by practice
Lol when you have SC's from consulting making more than SM's in advisory
Post in the group forum. 😀
And the strong shall devour the weak's reward
This isn't news... yet. It's only a matter of time.
^or Deloitte consultants are overpaid XD and the market will adjust
Which SMs and PPDs? Lol. First, no way they would casually drop something that big to SMs. Probably just a speculation someone came up with and it spread. Have it coming from an E-level partner? Sure has merit. Other than that, nope.
@GS1 exactly my thought- what happens in those cases?
@DD1 my thoughts exactly. Either advisory ppl will quit in droves because they will be so underpaid for their level and expectations, or consulting ppl will quit because their salaries stagnant while advisory practitioners are brought up to the same pay level.
