Reached out to an MD in Barclays for a job and he got me an interview which wasn't exactly aligned with my education (was looking for an ib/wealth management role and got interviewed for a trader role)
Needless to say I tanked it. Would it be alright if I reached out to him again and asked if he could get me another interview?

Depends how close you are with him. Are there openings for the roles you’re looking for? If not, he can’t do anything about that and already tried to help you, so I wouldn’t push on it personally.

Don't really know them personally. Sent out a cold mail and got a response.
Thanks for your advice.

That’s tough. Wish I had better advice. Not sure if you’ve tried this already, but either asking professors to put you in touch with former students in IB, or filtering people on LinkedIn to IB MDs from NU, could be good ways to find contacts with an immediate connection to you. Best of luck

Thanks

You could. Never hurts to ask IMO. Just explain the situation.

I work as a Sr. Training Coordinator in the L&D team of a company and draw 7.5L per year. My YOE is 8. I don't see many posts about L&D in this bowl or any other bowls for that matter and would like to know if this is apt for the position I'm in currently.

I feel like I'm being paid less. Any input would be appreciated.

I just transitioned to a new role in a newly created team where I’m basically building the team (startup). I’m working with two execs who I like and have a lot of background with but I’m still really overwhelmed at the lack of structure. I feel like I could just wrap myself in circles. There’s so much that needs to be done and I feel like I’m drowning. Has anyone done anything similar? Any advice?

Currently have 10 years experience in TA last 5 years in management. Moved abroad for a management position this company made senior leadership redundant! Spent around 3 months unemployed and was offered a position around 40% less salary for a Senior Recruiter position so going back to what I had done a few years ago! Hey everyone, What would you say is the difference between an account director and a senior account manager. I was just promoted as an account director when I quit my job and moved to the U.K and now having so much trouble finding a job as an AD. My last interview feedback was that they really liked me but felt like I was lacking new bizz skills and that the organic business growth opportunities I found and jumped on were “luck aka right place at the right” moment kinda thing?

Is there a recommended path here? Long one, finished in the comments.

So I make around 35% below market for my titled role. My employer used “startup” as the reason when I was hired, but they’ve finally stopped using that excuse. I was fine with it, because I was promised a promotion within 12 months due to scope change. I’ve now been promoted twice, but in responsibility only. My boss said it’ll be another 18-24 months until my director promo is approved and goes into effect. More in comments

Other than consult legal (we have a IP attorney), curious how other startups approached this.
