Read a quote that messed me up today after a week of on-site client and all hands work; “better to be a warrior in a garden than a gardener in a war.”

It’s a mixture of existentialism and identity crisis juggled almost weekly. It hasn’t stopped since I left 7 years ago, though it pops up less; shows when I’m telling some CFO how much money he has to spend.

Just dropping this to say that you’ve got this, and you’re better as a warrior at peace than someone whose never known a fight. RLTW

Thank you for dropping that last quote here. I never thought I needed to here it until today. It really helped me clear my mind.

I agree with you. This was a good one.

Heroes come from the most unlikely corners. If you stood Audie Murphy next to Arnold Schwarzenegger who do you think would look more like a hero. Audie Murphy was little more than a gardener. Son of a share cropper. He was a cotton picker to help support his family. He was turned away from the army for being under weight.
Both were actors. both were/are vets. Mr. Murphy is the only one who is the most decorated vet in his nation's history. Including the Congressional Medal of Honor.

How do you get a client to move away from wanting meetings only after 5pm? I’ve had a few meetings with them after work hours and I think they now expect that I’m always free after 5 to talk when they want. I think I’m within my rights to not have meetings after work hours (of course with exceptions when urgent), but these are often just discussions that could happen via email.

If you have 30 to 45 minutes and you would like to participate in interviews, please DM your email address.

Need some advice, I’m an experienced audit staff looking to transition to FDD or Valuation after busy season. I’m not sure what I want to do long term yet, but I know I want to work in a client facing role and not exit to industry.

It's remote, the salary is good, the manager is nice, but you'd be the most senior marketing person; the company is about 200 people. What would you do?
