Reading many 0.1%ers are moving assets to cash in anticipation of the market declining. Are you doing that as well (eg, high-yield savings account) or continuing to invest in the market? Vote below.

Moving assets to cash

Time in the market > timing the market. If you’re young ride it out. Should already be allocating a % to both a hysa and investments

Stay in the market. $10k invested in March of 1941 would be worth $75m today in that time we had a world war, the Vietnam war, the civil rights movement, a presidential assassination, oil embargo, a terrorist attack, another war and a recession. During all that the market just kept climbing

We're pretty much in the 1% (not .1%), and I'll say that I'm not planning on rebalancing. Continuing to invest in tax deferred accounts as usual. And wouldn't want to sell assets in taxable accounts and pay the CGT. If anything, I've been directing more taxable savings into hysa instead of directly in the market in the past few months. So sitting cash heavy. People have been taking recession for years. If you had pulled out last December, you would've missed out on 32% gains since. Could be like this for another year +.

I think this guy, as always, brings up a great point.

Don’t try to mimic the super rich, the way they handle their existing money is very different considering their position.

I'm definitely not 0.1%. I'm not even 1%. So, no.

I've rebalanced towards more treasuries to change the risk balance. Already was heavy cash so just keeping that steady.

I had 60 day late payment of 35 bucks in Jan. It was new Amex Hilton card I opened for stupid points. It was reported and my credit score had been consistently dropping from last 6 months. It was 780 and now is 735. I realized this 3 months and been paying my credit card bills immediately. Infact I have overpaid each card to have negative balance so my credit utilization is almost zero. What else I can do to repair the damage. I purchased a home with the intent of living in it once DT allowed us to return to office, but the return date kept getting pushed back so I haven’t moved in yet. I’ve been staying at my parents house 2 hours away and plan on remaining with them until the office opens up. Would i get in trouble if I rent my home out? I fully intended on living in the home at the time of signing but covid just got worse so my original plan hasn’t worked out yet.

Is this a good investing mindset - been wanting to buy AMZN, MSFT, TSLA, and GOOG, but keep waiting for them to be more affordable(yes I missed the dip), while their price just keeps steadily rising to/past all times highs. But these are companies I believe in long term. And Time in Market vs Timing the Market. So should I just buy them now based on their future potential value as opposed to waiting to try to get a discount that no one know if/when will ever come?
