Idk what that actually means re: your job but you need to take into account that people will self select so you’re likely seeing high ass salaries.
I’m a SWE from a super non-target, lcol:

Not anymore, or at least it got removed for me, and they only did for some groups/skillsets. People from my same group didn’t get it but some of us did.

Given your school, YOE, and location you're doing well enough, but should definitely be looking to make a move and get well over $100k. Problem is you'll probably struggle unless you're willing to move to a tier 1 market.
Sorry I have very little insight on that.
My advice, sit tight for now. The economy is in the tubes. Prep the resume. When it gets better plot the great escape.
Yeah I feel this. I almost had an out before COVID.
Where is your MBA from? I didn’t go to a top 25 school, and in the world of consulting, anything besides T25 is basically worthless.
I had 4 years experience in corporate accounting before MBA.
Id need to dig into the type of work a bit to understand as boutiques sometimes do very different work.
- can you describe a typical project?
- do you travel?
- where are you based?
Thanks!
Might be time for a change. Most people are underpaid by their first firm.
But consider how much you like your job. It's no secret that consulting is full of miserable people, so if you really like your company it may be better to stay and try hard for a raise (after the recession passes, of course).
Basically no consultant should be making < $100k with 2-3 years experience, in practically any consulting field covered by the big 4.
Yeah OP, need to know your location. To be honest, seems low for someone doing something finance related out of an MBA. But maybe you’re in a LCOL area.
Miami
Very low. I would shoot for 110+
Where is your MBA from?
Wow criminally underpaid if you did a FT MBA
