I don’t necessarily think it’s something you ‘should’ do. Before I was in consulting, I was in beauty and continue to stay abreast via classes, my estheticians (3) and various dermatologists. Botox isn’t necessary, it’s a preference. The best thing you can do for your skin and your body is limit unnecessary procedures and harsh chemicals. And sunscreen!!! You need that. I’ll give you three products you might like to avoid wrinkles: 1. Minéral 89 by Vichy (hyaluronic acid and pre-biotic thermal water from France, plumps skin) $ 2. 1% Bakuchiol by Typology (natural retinol alternative, clinically studied and proven to neutralize free radicals and boost collagen production, prevent wrinkles, etc) $ 3. MyChelle mineral sunscreen (i.e. zinc and titanium dioxide) Personally, I love the Tinted Sun Shield. It’s great. $

Every product I listed can be used daily and should be, unless you’re having a breakout. If so just cleanse, tone (Soon Jung Relief Toner) and use Niacimide and Zinc serum (the Ordinary). I subscribed to Detox Box from Detox Market (all green beauty) over the pandemic ($40/month). Got a full size Tata Harper cleanser and sample size moisturizer once; and while I love the green packaging & the fact that it’s glass not plastic, as someone who studies formulations for fun…those products are pretty average and cheap to make, so I don’t see myself buying a $90 cleanser after I use this one. Remember, anything that feels like a lotion texture or even gel, whether it’s cleanser or moisturizer is made with water. I’m talking 80% at least. Personally, I love the La Roche Posay cleansers because they’re effective, have limited non toxic ingredients, made in France, cost about $15 and frequently on sale at Ulta, CVS, Walgreens, Target, etc. In France, it’s one of the top beauty brands and the only reason it’s kind of pricey here is because of import. I use the LRP cleanser with niacinamide and ceramides, because that addresses my actual skin concerns. Notice the TH cleansers and products do not call out any specifics, just that they ‘repair’ or are for ‘sensitive skin’ 🤷🏻‍♀️ When I land in Paris, I go to the pharmacy after checking in to my hotel - just for beauty products. That’s truly where I learned that breaking the bank for basics is not normal, but a purely American thing.

Most of my female friends seem to do it. I’m Australian, 37, living in America. Girlfriends from ages 27 and up are doing it. So is one of their husbands now. I don’t. Just wear my sunscreen and a hat religiously. Also I’m scared of needles.

I’m 28 and I get Botox to relax my top lip and hide my gummy smile, only regret is not doing it earlier. I’m interested in more injection sites for preventative reasons but haven’t expanded yet.

Started forehead at 29 (no regrets kind of wish I started earlier) but got my masseter muscle done at 31 and loveeee the results. I’m hard teeth clencher and it’s worked wonders on not being able to hold tension in my mouth/jaws. Also slims face which is nice side effect

I’m 29 and got it for the very first time a couple of days ago for frown line and mild crow’d feet. Doctor told me his youngest patients were 19-20 yo. I was constantly conflicted because we all age and as a society we have been conflicted to thing that young equals more attractive, especially for women. But at the end of the day, I didn’t want that frown line to be there 🤷🏻‍♀️. Effect lasts 6 months, so I’ll see how I feel after.

Less than 20 units/ micro dose of botox. Aims to achieve a more natural-looking result.

I know everyone is different and has different needs but around how much does getting botox cost?

I think some areas are like 9-15 units usually. I just get 5 for my top lip. The thing with Botox is maintenance, you have to get it every 3 months. As a opposed to filler which is way more expensive (500$) but lasts 6 months

Career advice: I became an HR mgr/BP relatively early on in my career so have 7 years BP exp. and 9 overall. I work in pharma as a Sr. BP/manager now. I’d like to make a move into an AD or higher role but seem to only get consideration for lateral moves. Not sure if it’s because I don’t have enough experience or if I’ve never had direct reports? How did you make that first jump? I’d need to relocate for anything at my current org which is not possible for me right now. Thanks for insights!
